🌸 More than a view 🌸

This beautiful moment captures one of our treasured residents enjoying time in the garden beside one of Kenderdine Park's murals.

Many of our residents have called Kenderdine Park home for years, and it is a privilege to share in their stories, memories, and the small moments that make life meaningful.

Throughout our home, gardens, flowers, murals, and welcoming outdoor spaces help create opportunities to relax, reminisce, connect, and enjoy the beauty around us.

Sometimes it is the simplest things, a favourite spot in the garden, a familiar view from a bedroom window, or a chance to sit outdoors and enjoy a sunny afternoon, that help a place feel like home. πŸ’œ

⚽ Over the past month, the FIFA tournament has sparked plenty of conversation around Kenderdine Park. Some residents followed every match, while others were simply happy to know when the football talk might finally end!

With residents and staff representing many different parts of the world, there was always a team to support, a prediction to share, and a result to debate.

Life in a community is rarely quiet, predictable, or unanimous. The past few weeks haven't always gone quite as planned, but the conversations, laughter, friendly rivalries, and support people have shown one another along the way have been a lovely reminder of the strength that can be found in community. ❀️

🌿 What's growing in the gardens at KP? 🌿

There's always something new to discover in our beautiful gardens! Right now we have:

πŸŽƒ Pumpkins playing peekaboo on the hill
🌼 Marigolds blooming in every nook and cranny
🍌 Banana trees growing like crazy
🍊 Oranges fruiting and thriving

For those who haven't had the chance to explore, our gardens are something truly special. Winding paths invite you to meander, tables offer spaces to gather and connect, and quiet benches provide moments of solitude and serenity.

Whether you're stopping to admire the flowers, checking on what's growing, or simply enjoying a peaceful moment outdoors, there's a little bit of magic waiting around every corner. πŸ’š

Recently we celebrated an incredible milestone – 25 years of service from our much-loved Senior Caregiver, Monica.

Originally joining us as an Enrolled Nurse, Monica became one of our most respected and requested caregivers, known for her kindness, patience, and willingness to share her knowledge with others.

Throughout her career, Monica has touched the lives of countless residents, families, and colleagues. One of her parting reminders to us was simple but powerful: always take a moment to stop and have a chat with our residents, because those moments of connection mean so much.

While we'll miss seeing Monica every day, we're delighted that she hopes to continue popping in as a volunteer to spend time with some of our residents.

Thank you, Monica, for 25 years of compassion, dedication, and friendship. Your legacy will continue to inspire us for many years to come. πŸ’œ

If you've spent time around Kenderdine, chances are you've seen Phyllis making her way through the halls with her knitting bag perched on her lap and her signature cat-ear beanie proudly atop her head. A familiar and much-loved face, Phyllis is often found visiting the office to photocopy her latest knitting patterns and ideas. Her talent and generosity shine through every stitch as she regularly knits items to donate to the SPCA and other community causes. We're so grateful for the kindness, creativity, and community spirit that Phyllis brings to Kenderdine. Her dedication to helping others reminds us that even the smallest acts of generosity can make a big difference. Thank you, Phyllis, for sharing your talents and brightening our days! Happy 81st birthday 🧢🐾❀️
