Using the wall gives you a reference point.
It helps develop proprioception — your awareness of where your body actually is in space — and helps you recognise where you may be compensating.
Sometimes we’re over-standing and extending through the spine and rib cage. Other bodies will compensate in completely different ways.
And although the Gravity Line looks simple, there’s actually a lot of muscular work going on — developing control and postural strength while becoming more aware of your positioning.
It’s not about holding yourself in a “perfect posture.” We want the body to bend, extend, side-bend, rotate, translate and move in all the ways it’s designed to move.
The Gravity Line is a reference point — not a position to live in.
Have a go and see what you notice.
