I fly quite a bit, and feel like I’ve nailed the healthy flight food quest.
For short flights (domestic or trans Tasman < 4 hrs), these are my top 3 go-to salads from Tank - there’s one at the domestic and international when you’re flying out of Auckland. If you don’t have access to a tank then just find something similar in terms of the ingredients.
🥗 Paleo Active Greens - my vego pick, egg, avocado, seeds, beet, carrot - you can add black beans, an extra egg, edamame or chicken if you want more protein
🍍 Almond Chicken Satay - higher protein, pineapple in the mix for a light carb, and healthy fats from the seeds
🍜 Vietnamese Chicken - rice noodles, herbs, vege, delicious dressing
Grab one of these plus a soy coffee, piece of fruit, and a protein bar or ball and you’re sorted. Cheaper than upgrading your seat to the full meal option, and a lot healthier (and tastier) than what’s coming down the aisle.
Try it on your next flight! ✈️
