She's been a while since we've posted 😅 wish us luck. Apparently we have the time to do this now.
Training for the Auckland Marathon? 🏃
At this point in the build, the kilometres are climbing, long runs are getting longer — and little ni**les can start showing up.
🦵 Pain around the kneecap
🦴 Pain along the inside of the shin
🦶 Achilles pain just above the heel
👣 Pain underneath the heel, especially first thing in the morning
Often, the problem isn’t simply “too much running”. It’s that your training load has increased faster than your body’s capacity to handle it.
And a ni**le doesn’t automatically mean you need to stop running.
Catching it early and adjusting the right part of your training can make a big difference — especially with race day getting closer.
We’ve broken down what each injury feels like, what you can do about it, and the warning signs you shouldn’t ignore.
