Men’s Health Week aims to help you get right on top of your biggest and most important asset – your health. 8 Kiwi families every day lose a loved partner, father or tupuna to a preventable illness. Almost one Kiwi man in four will die before they reach retirement age.

These numbers don’t have to stay this way. By making small changes to what we eat, drink, and do each day, we can help prevent these outcomes – because even small steps can make a big difference.

Check out the Men's Health week website for more information and tips to take charge of your health year-round: https://menshealthweek.co.nz/

We’re really encouraged by Pharmac’s proposal to extend free flu vaccinations to tamariki aged 6 months to 5 years. If approved, this could mean protection for more than 250,000 children across Aotearoa from 2027.

This would be great news for our littlest patients and their whānau.
As a general practice, we see first-hand how tough flu season can be on young children and their families. Making the flu vaccine more accessible means:

- Fewer hospital visits
- Less serious illness
- Healthier homes and communities.

This is a positive step toward improving equity in healthcare and supporting whānau to keep their tamariki safe and well.

Immunisation is one of the simplest and most effective ways we can protect each other – especially our pēpi and young children who are more vulnerable to complications.

We support this proposal and encourage whānau and our wider community to take part in the consultation process.
Together, we can create healthier futures for our tamariki!

You can check your current eligibility for a free flu vaccination here –

A yearly flu vaccine is recommended for everyone over 6 months old. It is free if you are aged 65 and over, if you are pregnant, and for lots of other people.

Today we’re recognising our reception team for everything they do to keep our practice running day in and day out.

They’re often the first point of contact, helping patients, supporting our clinicians, and making so much of what we do possible.

Thank you for your hard work, care, and commitment 💙

💛 Perinatal Mental Health Awareness Week 💛

The journey into parenthood can be full of joy – but it can also bring unexpected emotional challenges. During pregnancy and in the first year after birth, many parents find themselves feeling anxious, low, overwhelmed, or not quite like themselves. You’re not alone – these experiences are more common than people often realise, for both mums and dads.

💚 - Perinatal Anxiety and Depression Aotearoa leads this annual campaign to raise awareness and advocate for better perinatal mental health outcomes across Aotearoa.

This week is about reminding parents that support is available and that it’s okay to ask for help. If you or your partner are finding things tough, our team is here to listen, support, and walk alongside you – every step of the way. 💙

If this speaks to you, please reach out to your GP or practice team. You deserve care too.
