Everyone Has a Story | Alfie's Happy Place โค๏ธ๐
For the past 10 years, Alfie Linn (Nelson) has been a familiar face at the NZ Para Open Championships.
And if you've met Alfie, you will know one thing straight away...
Table tennis makes him happy.
It shows in his smile. It shows in the hugs he gives.
And it shows in the way he makes everyone feel welcome the moment they walk through the doors.
Alfie first discovered table tennis when he was watching his mum, Jane Linn, and his brother Jacob play.
One day, after watching from the sidelines, Alfie decided he had waited long enough.
"It's my turn now."
And there has been no stopping him ever since.
Ten championships later, table tennis is still Alfie's happy place.
Whether he's playing, catching up with friends, or walking around with his clipboard making sure everyone is on time for their matches, Alfie is always in the middle of the action.
This year, he also had one very important task: Tracking down the TTNZ team for a selfie. ๐ธ๐
Alfie made sure Naina and Laura knew exactly what was required.
And the resulting photo might just feature the biggest smile of the entire championships.
Because for Alfie, table tennis isn't just about the matches.
It's about the people, the friendships, and being part of a community that he loves.
And judging by the smiles he brings to everyone around him, that community loves him right back. โค๏ธ
