This is where I love Tarot & Astrology they have so very much to do with each other.
When we look at the astrology for July, when Neptune goes retrograde (as it did on July 7th) it’s not some big dramatic moment, it’s more like a slow shift in the background. Neptune is basically the planet of rose‑colored glasses, the one that makes everything look softer, dreamier, a little more magical. And when she turns retrograde, those glasses quietly come off. You start seeing things as they actually are, not how you hoped they were. It’s honest, but in a gentle way.
The first couple of weeks feel like a tide changing. Nothing huge, just this sense that the story you’ve been living is loosening a bit, like you’re starting to notice details you missed before.
Those rose colored glasses come off twice first being 12th July tomorrow.
On July 12, Mercury meets the Sun in a kazimi (mercury is exact with the sun and as she is in retrograde she is between the sun and earth), which is basically a cosmic “lightbulb moment.” Something you’ve been circling finally makes sense. The confusion drops, and you get a clean, simple answer.
Then on July 14, the Cancer New Moon brings a soft reset. It’s quiet, emotional, and perfect for setting an intention in the exact place Neptune is nudging you to be more real with yourself.
The big moment comes on July 20, when Jupiter makes a golden angle to Neptune. Your dreams get huge, bright, hopeful, full of possibility but they also ask to be looked at clearly. It’s that Neptune retrograde mix: your imagination expands, but your perspective sharpens. No glasses, no blur, just honest dreaming.
So pay attention to what’s bubbling up right now. These early days are quietly setting the tone for the next five months.
I also asked for three cards to fall out and of course I got four... below we see the fast moving and at times confrontational energy of the knight of swords as life seems to get busy and even a feeling like we're not even in control anymore for some. There may be ideas coming thick and fast too, our mind working overtime thinking of creative ideas or ideas to create a better future. Then we are asked to think about our abundance and our stability, what do we feel and how do we feel we can make a change for the better if any change at all, it almost feels like it's in the too hard basket. Moving on to the 6 of cups asking us to look at what we already have, be grateful for and then look to what can we do to make that better. If we can make things better then we should it's almost wistfully dreaming of what could be and looking forward to the future with hope. Empress, the empress asks us to look at mother earth and all she provides, to look at seeds that were sewn that are now ready to harvest, if we look at seeds as ideas that were sewn back with the meeting of the knight of swords and the knight of cups they have grown we can see them in their true form as they need to be seen. Once we see what can be going back to the 6 of cups we are looking forward to future with hope, but that hope may have also been tending to a crop already planted. The card I expected to see was Death or the Tower, and as I look to the bottom card on the pack I see the Tower the bottom card I see as the base of the matter, it generally sums up the reading. Here with the Tower we see a bolt of lightning coming out of the blue that looks like it's striking the tower and it's burning with people jumping to safety. The energy of the tower doesn't last long and it comes to shake things up, it is not always negative as it often leads to positive outcomes, Tower means drama, unexpected circumstances, chaos, where we feel as if we have lost control and everything is falling apart, always remind yourself of the saying "when things feel as if they are falling apart, sometimes they might be falling together.
I see such a correlation between the astrology and the tarot for this month, do you?
