🌺💛 Niuean Language Week | Vagahau Niue 🇳🇺

A language is more than words. It is greetings exchanged across generations, stories shared around the table, laughter with family, and reminders of who we are and where we come from.

This week, we’ve created the beauty of Vagahau Niue, learning new phrases, revisiting familiar ones, and recognising the role language plays in keeping culture, identity, and community strong.

Every conversation, every greeting, every word spoken is a way of carrying Vagahau Niue forward. May we continue to speak it, share it, and cherish it long after this week has passed.

Ko e Vagahau ko e loto he motu 💛
Language is the heartbeat of a people 🫀

Day 3 | Korōna Mou Youth Retreat 🌺

For three days, we gathered.

We laughed, created, shared meals, told stories, challenged ideas, and made space for one another. Along the way, we witnessed the strength, wisdom, creativity, and leadership that already exists within our Pacific Rainbow+ rangatahi.

When we returned home on Wednesday, we carried more than memories. We carried new connections, deeper understanding, and the collective hopes of young people who know the change they want to see in the world.

Korōna Mou means Steadfast Crown 👑

Over these three days, that crown was woven together through every talanoa, every act of courage, every burst of laughter, and every voice that chose to be heard.

To our rangatahi, thank you for trusting us with your stories, insights, and dreams for the future. This journey may have come to an end, but the impact of what was shared will continue to ripple outward long after we returned home.

✨ A steadfast crown, woven together.

🇫🇯 Macawa ni Vosa vakaViti | Fijian Language Week

Na noqu vosa me tekivu mai vale ka me’u na vosataka e na veisiga.
My language starts at home and I need to speak it every day.

Language is strengthened when we use it. Whether it’s speaking with family, greeting a friend, singing a hymn, sharing a prayer, or simply learning a new phrase, every word helps keep a language alive.

This week, we invite you to explore vosa vakaViti alongside us.

🌺 Learn a new phrase
🌺 Practise a greeting
🌺 Use a Fijian word in conversation
🌺 Share what you’ve learned with someone else

Small steps can create lasting connections to language, culture, and community.

Swipe through and see how you might incorporate vosa vakaViti into your everyday life this week.

Vosataka. Vakarorogo. Vakabulabulataka.
Speak it. Hear it. Keep it alive.

👀 And stay tuned as we continue our Pacific Language Week journey with Vāhau Niue 2026 | Niue Language Week.

🌺 Like strands woven together into a stronger mat, each conversation at NZSHS 2026 added to a shared vision for healthier communities.

We were grateful to connect with those shaping the future of sexual health in Aotearoa, exchanging knowledge, stories, and whakaaro grounded in care and equity.

We leave with full hearts, fresh insights, and renewed commitment to the wellbeing of the communities we serve.

The journey towards better health is not walked alone, but together.

Te ‘Gana Tuvalu is more than words. It is memory, belonging, and the footsteps of those who came before us guiding those yet to come. 🇹🇻💙

Throughout this Tuvalu Language Week, we celebrate the language, songs, prayers, stories and traditions that continue to connect Tuvaluan communities across oceans and generations. In every greeting shared, every hymn sung, and every story passed from elder to child, culture continues to live and flourish.

Like a basket woven with care, our language carries treasured memories, lessons and identity. It reminds us where we come from while giving us the strength to move forward with pride. Wherever life may take us, may we continue to carry Te ‘Gana Tuvalu close to our hearts, sharing its beauty with the generations who follow.

“Tuvalu, alofa ki tou fakavae, kae teugina tou iloga i tou kete fai malaga.”
Tuvalu, cherish your foundation, and carry your identity along your journey.

Fakafetai lasi. Happy Tuvalu Language Week. 🌺
