Getting workers site-ready takes more than an induction. šļø
The CHASNZ Site Access Requirements set out a clear pathway for helping workers arrive on construction sites with the right foundation knowledge, then build on it with site-specific information and appropriate supervision.
At a glance, the framework covers four key areas:
1. Foundation Health & Safety Training
Build essential knowledge of common construction risks, responsibilities and safe work practices.
2. Foundation Knowledge Assessment
Verify that workers understand that knowledge through an independent assessment, such as ConstructSafe.
3. Site-Specific Induction
Focus on the hazards, controls, rules and emergency arrangements unique to the site.
4. Appropriate Supervision
Provide supervision that reflects the workerās experience, competency, tasks and level of risk.
When foundation knowledge is covered before workers arrive, site inductions can spend less time repeating the basics and more time focusing on what workers actually need to know about that particular site.
Besafeās Foundation Toolbox is aligned with the CHASNZ Site Access Requirements and is designed to help workers build that foundation knowledge before completing the ConstructSafe Foundation Assessment.
