The staff, clients, and Board of Trustees of Raukatauri Music Therapy Centre are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Auckland drummer Bruce King.

Over many years, Bruce generously gave his time, expertise, and care to Raukatauri, voluntarily repairing and restoring the percussion instruments that are an integral part of our music therapy practice. His quiet generosity ensured that countless clients and therapists could continue to make music with instruments that were maintained to the highest standard.

We are deeply grateful for the care Bruce brought to his mahi for us, and indeed to all of his work. We extend our heartfelt condolences to his whānau, friends, colleagues, and the many people whose lives were touched by his musicianship, generosity, and kindness.

We are delighted to introduce Amanda Piper-Randell as Raukatauri's new Chief Executive Officer. Amanda brings more than 20 years of leadership experience across both the not-for-profit and commercial sectors, with extensive expertise in fundraising, partnerships, marketing and strategy.

Her senior leadership roles at Cure Kids and World Vision New Zealand demonstrate strong commitment to purpose-driven organisations and creating meaningful impact. We are excited to welcome Amanda and look forward to the leadership, vision and energy she will bring to Raukatauri's next chapter!

Congratulations to Agatha Lee, recipient of the 2026 Music Helps Master of Music Therapy Award! 🎉

We're proud to partner with MusicHelps and the Kate Edgar Educational Charitable Trust to support the next generation of music therapists.

Congratulations, Agatha, and all the best for your studies! 🧡

MusicHelps is delighted to announce Agatha Lee as the 2026 recipient of its Master of Music Therapy Award.

Presented in partnership with the Kate Edgar Educational Charitable Trust and the Raukatauri Music Therapy Trust, the award supports wāhine entering the Master of Music Therapy programme at Te Herenga Waka Victoria University of Wellington.
Agatha will receive an $8,000 scholarship to support her first year of study.

A musician and educator, Agatha is the founder of the Vocal Sound Collective, a hub for music creators, artists, tutors and students to connect, learn and share knowledge through lessons, workshops, events, performances and online courses. Prior to this, Agatha spent five years as a Senior Tutor at Massey University, and has worked extensively as a piano tutor and coach in Ōtautahi Christchurch, including with Music Box Academy.

On Friday we farewelled our General Manager, Rachel Farrell, after almost ten years service to the Raukatauri Music Therapy Trust.

Rachel, thank you for the energy, dedication, kindness and care you've brought to our team. Your contributions have made a lasting impact, and you've left a lasting legacy here at Raukatauri.

While we're so sad to see you go, we're excited to see where your next adventure takes you. We know you'll bring the same warmth, passion and talent to whatever comes next.

Thank you for everything you've given, and for the memories, laughter and support along the way. We wish you every success and happiness in this next chapter.
