DIGITAL & SAFETY PATHWAYS | The Learning Wave ✨

Over the past few months, some of our Support Workers have taken part in two of The Learning Wave programmes at the PHC Office: Digital Pathways and Safety Pathways. Focusing on practical, everyday skills that support our people to feel more confident in their roles and contribute to a safe, capable and connected workforce.

People and Culture Workforce and Training Support, Merelesita, said, “It was also great to see learners supporting one another throughout the programmes, sharing experiences and building confidence together.”

MEITAKI MAATA (thank you) to Paea Otumuli from Learning Wave for facilitating both programmes, and congratulations to all of our Support Workers who took part and committed their time to learning and development 🌟

🎉 Human Bingo at Pacific Homecare! 🎉

In light of Mental Health Awareness Week, our office recently took part in a fun game of Human Bingo, where staff were challenged to connect, learn new things about each other, and step outside their comfort zones. 🤝✨

There were plenty of laughs, great conversations, and a little friendly competition along the way! A big congratulations to our three lucky winners who completed their bingo cards and took home some prizes. 🏆👏

Activities like these are a great reminder that building strong connections and having fun together helps create a positive and supportive workplace culture.

We can't wait for the next office challenge! 💙

Recently, our Operations Manager, Leolasi Fauena, travelled to Wellington to take part in the Dare to Lead™ leadership training with Boma, facilitated by Kaila Colbin.

For Leo, the experience provided an opportunity to reflect on his own leadership journey and the kind of leader he wants to continue becoming – as well as how these learnings can make a difference for the people and teams he supports at Pacific Homecare.

“It was a fantastic learning experience and one that gave me the opportunity to reflect not only on the type of leader I am today, but also on the type of leader I want to continue becoming. I left the training feeling energised, motivated and even more confident about my role as a leader. Most importantly, I left with a renewed commitment to put what I have learned into practice – not just for my own development, but for the benefit of my team, our Support Workers and, ultimately, the people we are privileged to support."

It's Mental Health Awareness Week, and this year's theme is "Belonging Matters" ❤✨

To celebrate, we're sharing a moment of connection among our office team, who came together to sing a song, dance, and share a few laughs. Simple moments like these can positively impact our hauora (well-being) and remind us of the importance of connection.

This week, we encourage everyone to take one small step towards connecting with someone else. It could be saying kia ora to someone you pass by or checking in with a friend.

As this week's whakataukī reminds us:

Ni sa bula vinaka! (Hello/Greetings) 🌺 Happy Macawa ni Vosa vakaViti | Fijian Language Week!

This year's theme is:

🌺 "Na noqu vosa me tekivu mai vale ka me'u na vosataka e na veisiga"
🌺 "My language starts at home, and I need to speak it every day."
