On March 21, 2026, the first International Tai Chi Day celebration will be held in Auckland, New Zealand. From March 21 to March 22, a special Tai Chi competition — the “International Tai Chi Day” Tournament — will also take place.

We sincerely invite distinguished guests and members of all sectors to participate in this celebration and witness the birth and development of International Tai Chi Day.

Let us use Tai Chi as a bridge to promote mutual learning among civilizations.

United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization has designated March 21 each year as International Tai Chi Day. This is the first International Day within the United Nations system to be named after a martial arts discipline. It marks the global recognition of the important value of Tai Chi and represents a vivid practice of the Global Civilization Initiative.

On March 21, 2026, the first International Tai Chi Day celebration will be held in Auckland, New Zealand. From March 21 to March 22, a special Tai Chi competition — the “International Tai Chi Day” Tournament — will also take place.
