Olga is the Principal Teacher Trainer for Authentic Pilates Education International (APEI) and Director of Authentic Pilates Studio Sydney. A former Australian Ballet dancer who is 2nd generation teacher certified by Romana and NY Pilates Inc, she’s internationally respected for her passion, precision, and dedication to the classical method. It is a big responsibility to run a teacher training program. This article explains why.

The Pilates industry is booming, and that is something we all welcome.
However with the boom we've also seen a rise in people setting up "Teacher trainings" that are not fit for purpose.

4 hour Reformer "teacher training" on a Saturday anyone? No previous Pilates experience required? Maybe even all online!

Every week I receive e-mails from highly experienced teacher who are seeing our industry being slowly eroded.

This blog is not about gate keeping our industry, growth is a good thing, competition is healthy and a raised public profile of Pilates is brilliant, but not at the expense of quality teaching and public safety.

🩵 Welcome Bridie to the Team! 🩵

We’re thrilled to welcome Bridie to the Authentic Pilates family!

Bridie is a highly certified Classical Pilates teacher with a rich background in professional ballet, fitness, and wellness. Originally from Pukekohe, she moved to New York at just 15 to train with Ajkun Ballet Theatre—later dancing professionally in New York, Los Angeles, and Italy.

Her journey with Pilates began alongside her dance career and deepened over time. She earned her Pilates Mat certification with Polestar Pilates NZ in 2012, and completed her comprehensive Classical Pilates training in New York in 2016, under Romana Kryzanowska-trained mentors. ✨

Now back in New Zealand with her husband, young son, and pup, Bridie brings a wealth of knowledge, warmth, and passion to every class. Her teaching style is supportive and inclusive—because she believes movement is for everyone, at every stage of life.

A former elite rhythmic gymnast who represented NZ internationally, Rebecca’s journey into wellness has been both personal and professional. Her passion for healing is rooted in lived experience, extensive study, and a heartfelt dedication to helping others feel more at home in their bodies.

✨ Katie is 5 months post spinal fusion today ✨

I’m feeling so grateful for how far I’ve come. Pilates has been such a huge part of my recovery — it’s helped me reconnect with my body, build strength, and feel more in control again. 🥰

And today… I had the most incredible 2-hour treatment with the very experienced Rebecca Blake, who does neuro/muscular holistic massage. Rebecca’s intuition and training is next level, she knew exactly what my body needed — muscle + fascia release, lymphatic drainage, balancing… all of it.

I stood up from the table feeling so connected, aligned, and free.
Can’t even explain how good it was. 🩷

And the best part?
You’ll be able to experience her magic soon too… something special is coming to the studio, so keep an eye out 👀
