We’ve been trying to grow our family for over six years now. What I thought would be straightforward turned into a diagnosis of POI at 33, and a long road of failed IVF cycles.
Arthur came from our 10th round - one embryo that became our everything 🤍
Trying for a second has been even harder. More cycles. Lower response. As well as the reality that time is not on our side anymore.
Recently, we decided to try ovarian PRP - something not available in NZ, so this weekend we travelled to Melbourne for the procedure.
It’s not a miracle fix. There is no way of knowing it is ‘working’ - and a big chance it won’t!
But it might improve our chances. And right now, we want to say we tried everything.
I am sharing, because I think it’s important:
You can do everything “right”
live well, eat well, look after yourself
and still face this.
Fertility is not a reflection of effort or worth.
And sometimes, it just isn’t fair and what will be will be.
So, for now, we wait. And enjoy a few Melbourne luxuries 🥐🍵
