The Mental Health Awareness Week event calendar is open for submissions!

Whether you're hosting a community market, book club, meditation session, or something completely unique, we'd love to hear about it.

This year is all about finding small moments of connection that help create a sense of belonging. If it's free, or for charity, and brings people together, submit your event today and get it in front of as many people as possible.

We stand with tamariki, rangatahi and their whānau. 💜

The government must do more to change how platforms are built and operate at their core, not just who is allowed through the door.

Netsafety Week 2026 is here! 💜

From today, 17–23 August, Aotearoa is coming together to build safer, more positive online spaces.

This year’s message is simple: online safety is a team sport, play your part.

You might make safer choices online, check in with someone, speak up when you see harm, or share what you know with others. Every action helps.

It's a fact: Learning helps us to manage stress and improves our wellbeing.

Trying new things can help keep us curious, expand our skills and knowledge, and strengthen our connections with others.

Learning something new doesn't need to be a huge task. Some of the most valuable learning happens in everyday moments – whether it’s discovering a cool fact, learning a few words in a new language, or giving a fun new hobby a go.

Today is International Youth Day!

This year's theme, "Different Contexts, Common Aspirations," reminds us that while rangatahi come from diverse backgrounds and experiences, they share the same hopes of quality education, meaningful work, good health, and a more sustainable future.

Here at MHF, we're proud to support young people through Rangatahi Rise, a youth social action project that empowers students to lead positive change around mental health in their kura, school, and wider community. Through the project, rangatahi identify the issues that matter most and work together to take meaningful action, helping to strengthen mental wellbeing in their communities, while inspiring others to do the same.

If you'd like to be part of the journey and support rangatahi, get in touch with us at [email protected], we'd love to hear from you.
