On Monday we had a blessing & whakāwatea in the tari ✨

Local artist Eddie Deakin, who has a strong connection with Maataa Waka, gifted us with three ātaahua carvings that now sit above the doorway of three of our rooms.

Ngā mihi nui Eddie, we are extremely grateful to have your amazing mahi displayed in the tari 🫶

As our mahi can be quite heavy at times, part of the morning also included a whakāwatea or spiritual clearing or cleansing of the tari ✨

We then finished off with the blessing of our new kōrero & kai trailer where we had our first cook up on the bbq. Ngā mihi tāne mā for our delicious burgers 🍔🔥

Last Wednesday we had a teams day ran by our Rangatahi & Kaitūwhana teams ✨
With the theme of the day based around our youth, we dressed up as our younger selves, role played on common situations our rangatahi face, and went on a haerenga in search of our rangatahi. And of course we finished the day with some shared kai 🍗

It was an awesome day full of learning, whanaungatanga, and stepping outside of our comfort zone ✨
