💞Time for a reshare - we get asked for this recipe all the time. A nourishing and tasty treat for everyone, not just breastfeeding mums! (Although, making a batch of these for someone who has just had a baby is the ultimate gift ) 💞

Can I eat honey while feeding my baby human milk? Yes, you can.

The concern about honey applies only to babies under 12 months eating it directly—their immature digestive systems can't yet handle certain bacteria spores that may sometimes be in honey, which could lead to infant botulism.

But your adult digestive system can safely handle those spores. They don’t pass into your human milk, and there’s no evidence that honey poses a risk to your baby this way.

In short: Enjoy honey while feeding your baby human milk—just don’t give honey to your baby until after their first birthday.

We want to keep our tamariki warm in winter – but big puffy jackets, snow suits or other bulky layers are unsafe to use in child restraints. The harness needs to be as close as possible to your child’s body to be effective in a crash and layers compress, making the harness loose.

Take jackets or other outer layers off before buckling your tamariki in. You can put a blanket over the top of the harness to keep pēpi warm, or for older tamariki you can pop their jacket on backwards over the top while they’re in the car.

Winter is coming ❄️☃️

It's important our little ones stay warm this winter, with clothing that is made from natural fibres like cotton and wool to help keep their body temperature even.

Cambridge Plunket is kindly seeking donations of knitted booties, vests, beanies, cardigans or jumpers for our babies and infants.

If you are a keen knitter or part of a local knitting group, and would like to help, we'd love to hear from you 🩷🧡🩵
