Yoga for me has never been about getting into fancy yoga poses — unless you’re in Tweens Yoga… and then let’s get creative! 😜✨

It’s never been about how flexible you are, how deep you can go, or whether your body looks a certain way.

Yoga, for me, has always been about how I feel.

It’s about slowing down.
Taking a breath.
Coming back to myself.
Moving my body in a way that feels good.
Creating space in my mind when life feels busy.
And learning to listen to what my body actually needs.

Most importantly, it’s about moving in ways that not only make me feel better now, but learning to move in ways that my future self will thank me for. 🤍

Because the choices we make for our bodies today can become the gift we give ourselves 5… 10… even 20 years from now.

There is no perfect pose.
There is no perfect body.
There is simply your practice, your breath and your time to reconnect with yourself.

That’s the kind of yoga I love to share at The Yoga Bungalow. 🧘‍♀️🤍

Sometimes the most powerful thing we can do is soften.

Not because we've given up. Not because we're weak. But because we've finally realised that we don't have to hold everything so tightly.

This shape is one of surrender. Supported. Grounded. Held.

It reminds me that slowing down isn't about doing less—it's about creating the space to actually hear ourselves beneath all the noise.

We spend so much of our lives pushing forward, striving, ticking off the next thing. Trying to prove our worth with busyness. Yet often it's in the quiet moments, with our body resting on a bolster and our breath beginning to slow, that we find exactly what we've been searching for.

Maybe that's why I love teaching slow, gentle yoga so much!

It's not about how deep you fold or how flexible you are. It's about giving yourself permission to pause, to breathe, and to simply be.

And sometimes... that's enough. 🤍

The more I teach, the more I realise that most people don't step onto their mat wanting to spend an hour chasing their breath.

They want to arrive. They want to breathe. They want to feel.

Our outside world already moves at such a fast pace. For many of us, yoga is one of the few places where we can slow down, reconnect, and simply be.

Over the past seven years, there has absolutely been a time and place in my teaching for stronger, faster flows. But as I've moved into my 40s, I've found myself craving something slower. Ironically, slowing down often asks more of us. It builds strength, awareness, and presence in a completely different way.

I also have an incredible ability to shy away from things that sit outside my comfort zone. Imposter syndrome is very real. But this year I've kept telling myself, "Just book the blardy ticket!"

So... I did.

This November I'll be completing my Yin Yoga Teacher Training with the beautiful Gabrielle Harris Yoga. I've long admired her books and teachings. This will compliment what The Yoga Bungalow offers beautifully.

A little apprehensive... very excited... and so ready to keep learning. 🤍

🤍 Prenatal Yoga at The Yoga Bungalow 🤍

The time has come where my recent ladies have graduated to mum life. This means there is now space available in our Prenatal Yoga class

Pregnancy is a beautiful journey, but it can also be one that asks a lot of your body and mind.

Our Prenatal Yoga classes are a chance to slow down, take a deep breath, and connect with both yourself and your baby in a calm, supportive space. This class focuses on gently building strength, easing aches and tension, improving mobility, and practicing breathing techniques that can be helpful throughout pregnancy and birth.

As a qualified Pre and Postnatal Yoga Teacher with six years of experience teaching prenatal yoga, I understand that every pregnancy journey is unique. Class sizes are kept small, allowing me to offer individual guidance and modifications so you can move safely, comfortably, and confidently throughout your practice.

Thursday evenings at 6pm.

Please reach out for further info.

Today I had the pleasure of meeting another beautiful yoga teacher from the Waikato. It was a book I'd listed for sale that brought us together—neither of us realising who the other was.

When she arrived she said, "Oh, I follow your social media page. I love what you do and what you've created."

For a moment, my inner voice replied, "Me too."

And it made me realise something. I really do love what I do, and I feel incredibly proud of what we've created here at The Yoga Bungalow.

In a world with so many choices, it never goes unnoticed when people choose to return to our classes, week after week. It's your smiles, your conversations, your trust, and your willingness to show up exactly as you are that have transformed our little studio into something so much more than a place to practice yoga.

You've helped create a sanctuary!

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for being part of this beautiful community. 🤍

We all start yoga searching for peace!

Then halfway through class, we realise the hardest part is standing back up!

Still worth it every single time!

Who's ever made weird noises trying to get off the mat?

Slow yoga and gentle yoga - embracing props to bring the ground a little closer.
