💙 A Wonderful Week at Kauri Lodge 💙

🐟🍟 To celebrate Fathers Day, our men enjoyed a classic fish and chips lunch - always a favourite and a lovely way to celebrate the special men in our home.

🍪🍪We also had a fun afternoon of biscuit tasting and judging, sampling a selection of favourites before casting our votes. And the winner was….. Mint Slice!! A clear favourite.

🎨🫟 We also got creative with a step by step painting class, painting beautiful hydrangeas onto cards. Everyone did a fantastic job, and it was lovely to see each persons individual creation come to life.

Moments That Matter at Kauri Lodge

This weeks highlights:

🧁 Sweet Treats: We kicked things off with some delicious chocolate cupcakes.

🌿 Fresh Air: Our walking group made the most of the beautiful weather to stretch their legs and get outdoors.

🎨 Creative Crafts: A huge thank you to Jo’s daughter, Trudy, who ran a wonderful craft session showing us how to create beautiful mosaic coasters!

🥂 Happy Hour: Lyn and Alf enjoyed dancing to the great music.

🚐 Out & About: We loaded up the van and headed over to Sefton for a fantastic pub lunch together.

🐶 Puppy Love: To top it all off, we received some very special cuddles from our favorite furry friend, Bailey!

What a lovely time we all had with our special teddy bear and tales afternoon. 🧸

Each teddy came with its own unique story, sharing a little piece of history, memories, bravery and love, reminding us that sometimes the smallest things can bring back the biggest memories. ❤️

We all enjoyed a cuppa and a piece of homemade chocolate cake - which of course was a teddy bear too!

A big thank you to our residents for this beautiful idea, to Michelle for making it happen and to Bill for the delicious cake.

Today on a freezing cold snowy day we were treated to huge cookies for afternoon tea to celebrate National Chocolate Chip Cookie day 🍪 🍪

Today we farewelled Sue after 32 years working at Kauri lodge!!
We thank Sue for her years of hard work and the care she has shown to our residents.
Sue you will be missed by us all. We wish you a very happy retirement 🩷🩷🩷

This year we spoilt our ladies with an outing to Kaiapoi for High Tea and an Ice cream Parlour at home 🩷🩷🩷
