Have you listened to The Pelvic Pod?

It's a space for real, open and evidence-based conversations about bladder, bowel, and pelvic health — the kind we don’t hear often enough.

We are all for removing the stigma around all things pelvic health and this is a wonderful resource from Continence NZ. Highly recommend tuning in wherever you listen to podcasts!

Cervical cancer is the fourth most common cancer in women, according to the World Health Organization, and high-risk human papillomaviruses (HPV) cause 99% of cases.

A landmark study led by Queen Mary University of London estimates that the HPV vaccine has prevented around 200 cervical cancer deaths in England so far.

Until now, it has not been possible to show directly that HPV vaccination reduces cervical cancer deaths. However, with vaccinated generations now reaching adulthood, the potential impact can be studied, with this research providing the strongest national evidence to date that the HPV vaccine is saving lives.

Here in New Zealand our vaccination rates are falling. This must be reversed. We stand with the Cancer Society New Zealand in calling on the government to do all it can to bring the vaccination rate up to 90% and deal to this easily preventable cancer.

Last week, we joined people across Aotearoa in talking openly about continence — to reduce stigma and help more people access the support they deserve.

Jason's story is a powerful reminder that whether you're worried about symptoms, searching for answers, or just need someone to listen, talking to the right person can be the first step toward feeling better.

Not sure where to start? Continence NZ has a fantastic range of resources to help point you in the right direction.

For World Continence Week 2026 (15–21 June), broadcaster Jason Gunn...

Listening to the lived experiences of people with endometriosis, it is striking to see how far the impact extends into lives.

We’re grateful to and their interview subjects for explaining the realities of managing this chronic condition in a series published on YouTube called ‘Endometriosis in the workplace’, excerpted here. It's a highly informative, and for many, an eye-opening watch.
