Beautiful to see daffodils slowly blooming around the city!

Our poor fountain โ€œduckโ€ ๐Ÿฆ† seems to have been suffering with these chilly mornings frozen in place but residents have found them selves keeping warm with happy hour and a dance as well as enjoying Book Club this afternoon in Avon House where we had a chat about what we are currently reading this month! ๐Ÿ“–

Matariki is known as the Mฤori New Year.
Closely connected with the maramataka (the Mฤori lunar calendar), the reappearance of the Matariki stars in the early morning sky brings the past year to a close and marks the beginning of the new year.

Signified by the Matariki cluster of stars reappearing in our night sky, this is a time to reflect on the past year, celebrate the present, and plan for the year ahead.

Avon Residents enjoyed coming together for an afternoon of singing with our special guest Daniel and friends along with sharing delicious kai prepared by our chef Api that all enjoyed ๐Ÿฅ˜

Residents came down to the dining room this morning snug in their pyjamas๏ฟผ to enjoy a cooked breakfast buffet to celebrate Mid Winter!

Thank you to Grace & Sandra our DTs for putting together a wonderful morning, to chef Api for the breakfast spread and to all the staff who helped with breakfast service ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’™
