๐คง Influenza A is circulating โ help stop the spread
We are seeing an increase in Influenza A and flu-like illness in our community and around the motu.
Influenza can make you feel very unwell, with symptoms including fever, chills, headache, body aches, fatigue, cough and sore throat. For many people, the best treatment is time, rest and looking after yourself at home.
If you or someone in your household is unwell:
๐ Stay home โ avoid work, school, childcare and unnecessary outings while you are unwell.
๐ง Rest and keep your fluids up โ drink regularly and give your body time to recover.
๐งผ Wash your hands regularly โ good hand hygiene helps reduce the spread of viruses.
๐คง Cover coughs and sneezes โ use your elbow or a tissue, dispose of tissues and wash your hands afterwards.
โค๏ธ Look out for each other โ particularly pฤpi and young children, older people, pregnant people and those who may be more vulnerable to becoming seriously unwell.
