Your nervous system is building a whole human. Let’s talk about what that means for your body in the first trimester. 🌱
The moment conception occurs, your body begins one of the most extraordinary neurological events in nature — the formation of your baby’s brain and spinal cord begins in the very first weeks, long before most people even know they’re pregnant.
And here’s what doesn’t get talked about enough: your nervous system is working overtime too.
In the first trimester, your body is:
🔄 Surging with hormones that soften ligaments and shift your pelvis
🧠 Rewiring your brain (yes, pregnancy literally changes your neural architecture)
💫 Adapting your posture, centre of gravity, and musculoskeletal system — fast
When the spine and pelvis are moving well and free from tension, your nervous system can coordinate all of this change with more ease. That means better communication between your brain and body, better adaptation, and often — less of the nausea, fatigue, and discomfort that can feel overwhelming in these early weeks.
At our practice, we work with pregnant mothers from pre-conception through postpartum. First trimester care is gentle, specific, and centred on one thing: supporting your nervous system so your body can do what it already knows how to do — beautifully.
