Making body, hair and face products samples is a complex process
💚 work with client to get the brief and understandable the desired end product
💚 research ingredients, source ingredients
💚 develop spreadsheet with variations, %
💚 prep for sample making following GMP
💚 develop each sample , tweak as needed and adjust spreadsheet
Client then reviews each of the samples organically- aroma, texture, function

Samples retained by me to test for stability, appearance over time
Minimum 6 hours of work

An update from me, Wendy Maddocks
🌹 it has been a busy start to the year taking me away from this business and I have thought how I can best continue to offer the service and products I do without burning out
🌹 I work full time in an academic position which seems to fill many more hours than it should plus I am on the EC for the NZROHA and for various reasons that is also taking up more time than planned as we sort through some things and prepare for our up and coming AGM in June - check out the NZROHA face book page for public talks
🌹 I have an elderly parent who needs my support
🌹 I have done a lot of presentations this year related to Aromatherapy and these can be downloaded from the AIA research website - for each hour of presentation it takes about 8 hours of work on the side
🌹 a lot of ingredients have increased in costs and for the time involved to make batches of skincare just aren’t economical anymore so I am no longer offering that apart from my long time clients - retail products are balms and serums only
🌹 my focus now is the theraromatic inhalers, aromatic body oils and butters & a smaller range of The Sultress Natural perfumes

What’s the brown lumps in the butter???
Well each new formula I develop requires some preliminary batches. Nothing is wasted and I use the ‘out takes’ for myself- this one is a test batch of body butter ( was too thick) reheated with some aloe Vera juice added and a big blob of pure jasmine wax to create a heady luxury body butter for me. The brown blobs are the jasmine wax melting - heaven! 😇😇😇😇🌼🌺🌸🌹also has rose , rose geranium and Australian rosewood 🌸🌸🌸🌸

As most of my regulars know I fit my aromatic business around a full time academic position. I am having a break from the creative side of the business for a few weeks to focus on other parts of my life. I’m still contactable by email and supporting current clients. I am not accepting new clients at this stage. Products ordered via the website will be dispatched as normal until 20 March.
