Healing lesson for the healer.

A important part of being a healer can be to experience receiving healing from another. Whilst this may occur less as you go on in your career, its important to experience how another approaches the encouraging of balance in a body. I see many healers in my clinic, conventional and also very much not. However tuning into the energy a dear friend creates once in their healer mode, is treat for one like me. To feel the movement of energy in the clinic room as it responds to the practitioner intent. I love observing the shift my own energy makes in response: my nervous system also drawing my attention to past experiences such as other lives or unbalanced grids (of locations I've resided), all drawn up to highlight what I need to balance, to let go of or to move forwards in my life. I see healings , receiving one or giving, as a interactive experience. This has taken me years, learning to let go enough to observe what my nervous system is trying to tell me. And I, like everyone else, am constantly learning what it is to let go of pain.

The first time a client visited me after their death. (part 2 of 3)

Her journey was moving swiftly now, beyond my help and this was now a time for family. It was the first time I really knew what the saying meant, about a little bit of light leaving the earth. Someone who was so full of laughter and curiosity about life was leaving hers, her journey at an end. She passed not long after, and I would think of her often. My sensitivity was still blossoming and I did not know what my senses were telling me. It wasn’t until much later my mother, a long time clairvoyant piped up and said Joan ‘was here, and she thanks you for thinking of her’. The rush of memories came up and once again I recalled those talks on life and death that Joan and I had during those sessions. I now know that Joan had been ‘popping in’ and visiting me those times I had been thinking of her. Whether drawn by my thoughts, or my thoughts alerting me to her presence. It is not till years later I recognized that Joan was a teacher in my life, she helped me understand a process of letting go that I was privileged to witness.

The first time a client visited me after their death. (part 1 of 3)

I would think of her often for months after she had passed, sometimes even berating myself for not doing more. What more I thought I could have done, I do not know however this is a common thought with healers from both conventional and holistic modalities. During our sessions I was her acupuncturist and a confident for when she needed to vent at the frustration of having a terminal illness. Joan* and I would have lively discussions on life and the knowledge that there was more to happened ‘after’. With my acupuncture I offered physical relief until the last time we met. She was so thin then, barely able to sit up but she still managed to smile when I came to the house to see her. I remember feeling almost overwhelmed by the emotion saturating the house, the two children asleep and her husband quiet in his grief in the living room. As I left the house I intuitively knew this was the last time.

So I did a thing.

I want to think I did this because its time to open up about my skills more. But I suspect the perimenopause thing of ‘giving no f& #’ about what naysayers has really kicked in for me. Hallelujah!
So I’ve created The Clinical Occultist, an opportunity to really let people know what is out there and what’s possible as a healing alternative. I’m not giving up acupuncture, I’m just leaning into what is more needed these days in the growing sensitivity of people and the awakening of senses that is frightening some. I want a clinic where people feel safe talking about subjects which frighten or perplex them, and where I can give clarity and clear what is needed. An alternative approach and opinion to your conventional diagnosis. Yes, bookings are still through the website, and I’m still me. Is The Clinical Oculist my alter ego? Maybe. What I do know is that she’s attuned and ready to fight in your corner for you. Badassary - hear my call.
Oh yeah, and what I’m posting on FB and Instagram The Clinical Oculist will be observations plus excerpts from my book/s. One day in the future these will be published and ready to buy. No holding your breath please. Timelines are not one of my strengths!
I might put part one (of a 3 part post) here to give you an idea of the future. Otherwise, find me on Insta and FB !
