Why clearing blockages is essential for BICOM therapy to work at its best!

Put simply the body needs clear communication pathways. Energetic blockages can interfere with the body's ability to regulate itself, eliminate toxins and respond effectively to therapeutic information.

These blockages may arise from scars, heavy metals, chemicals, radiation, cranial and birth trauma, laterality, hyoid bone, and TMJ!

When blockages are present it can be like trying to send a message through maze of obstacles. The information may not be received clearly and the body's response may be reduced or delayed.

By identifying and addressing these interference factors we can help create a clearer pathway for the body's self regulating mechanisms allowing BICOM therapy to work more effectively and efficiently.

Could food reactions be adding to your barrel load?

When we think of food allergies or intolerances we often think of digestive symptoms. But sometimes the signs can be less obvious. Sometime it's hard for people to wrap their heads around food being the cause of less obvious symptoms...say hay fever for example!

For some people ongoing food reactions may contribute to the overall load on the body and may show up as symptoms such as congestion, hay fever type symptoms, headaches, skin changes, fatigue or simply not feeling your best.

The barrel concept reminds us that it is often not one thing alone. Stress, environment, lifestyle and possible food reactions may all contribute to the total load.

When the load becomes too much the body may begin to signal that something needs attention and symptoms such as hay fever start becoming a problem or an allergy to animal hair appears for example.

Addressing these underlying issues is key to regaining good health.

What is the barrel load concept?
Think of the body like a barrel collecting everyday stressors. When the load becomes greater than the body's ability to adapt, people may begin to notice changes in wellbeing and symptoms start appearing.

Physical, emotional and environmental factors such as stress, sensitivities, toxins, sleep disruption, infections and lifestyle factors may all contribute. We're born with an empty barrel and over a lifetime the barrel fills.

How does BICOM work?
Our bodies naturally communicate through electrical and biochemical signals. For example within nerves, muscles and other regulatory systems. BICOM uses specific frequency patterns as a complementary approach to explore potential stress influences and support overall balance and wellbeing. The idea behind the barrel load concept is that as overall load decreases the body may be better able to regulate and function optimally.

BICOM is generally approached as a process rather than a one-off session. A series of sessions is commonly recommended depending on the individual and the nature of their concerns.

Inflammation and Cognitive Health. GUM DISEASE IS ANOTHER FACTOR.

Gum disease is not just a dental issue. Certain bacteria involved in periodontal disease including P. gingivalis have been studied for their potential role in cognitive decline.

These bacteria may affect the brain in two main ways:
• Inflammation: Chronic gum infection can raise inflammatory chemicals in the body which may contribute to blood vessel damage and brain inflammation over time.
• Bacterial toxins: Some oral bacteria produce toxins and enzymes that may enter the bloodstream and potentially impact tissues beyond the mouth.

Research has found associations between poor oral health, periodontal disease, and a higher risk of memory decline, though many factors contribute to brain health.

Here are some things we can do
• Brush and floss daily
• Treat bleeding gums early
• Have regular dental cleans
• Reduce sugar intake
• Support blood sugar balance
• Don’t smoke or v**e
• Prioritise sleep, exercise, and a nutrient rich diet

Further to the post below on inflammation and cognitive decline. This is another reason we might experience inflammation. And yes it's one that naturopaths are always going on about.

Leaky gut or increased intestinal permeability is gaining attention as one possible driver of chronic inflammation in the body. When the gut lining becomes compromised unwanted particles such as bacterial toxins and partially digested food proteins may pass into circulation triggering immune activation. Over time, ongoing inflammation may affect many systems and this includes the brain.

Research into cognitive decline increasingly points to inflammation as a key contributing factor. Supporting gut health may therefore be an important piece of the puzzle when it comes to protecting memory, clarity, and long term brain function.

Chronic inflammation is now recognised as a key contributor to cognitive decline and Alzheimer’s disease. Inflammation in the body doesn’t stay in one place, it can affect the brain, leading to:

* Disruption of normal communication between neurons
* Accumulation of harmful proteins

Over time this creates an environment where the brain cannot function optimally.
Common (and often overlooked) sources of inflammation include:

Supporting Cognitive Health Naturally

Cognitive decline doesn’t happen overnight. It often develops gradually with early signs such as memory lapses, brain fog, reduced focus, mood changes, or fatigue.

Many people are told this is just part of ageing but there are often underlying factors that can be supported.

In clinic I take a comprehensive approach to cognitive health looking at the multiple contributors to cognitive decline rather than a single cause.This may include assessing and supporting:

* Blood sugar balance and insulin resistance
* Nutrient status (including B vitamins and essential fatty acids)

Many women notice that weight gain becomes much easier during perimenopause even when diet and exercise haven't really changed.

Hormonal shifts during this time can influence metabolism, blood sugar balance, sleep and cravings. These changes can make weight management feel much harder than it used to.

Working with women in clinic I hear how frustrating this can be especially when they feel they are doing everything right but the weight still slowly creeps up or just won't budge! I really really get it (been there!)

There are a number of approaches that may help support the body through this transition. One therapy that I use is auricular (ear) programs through BICOM bioresonance which aim to support appetite regulation, cravings and metabolic balance.

For those using this approach a series of sessions alongside nutritional tracking and support is often recommended.
