Meet the little legend - Trevor! 🖤

This gorgeous Scottish Terrier has been working hard through his recovery with his physiotherapist Abigail following a JPS (Juvenile P***c Symphysiodesis) surgery at Animal Orthopaedics.

He arrived at his physio appointment VERY excited to see us (and definitely ready to show off! 😂), with some great improvements in his core engagement and almost full hip extension.

We worked on loosening those tight back and hip muscles, improving spinal mobility and building strength through some fun exercises — including wobble cushions and elevated sit-to-stands. 💪

He’s making fantastic progress, and we’ll see him again in a few weeks to keep building on all his hard work!

Keep up the great work, superstar! 🌟

Neck Pain In Dog's 🐶❤️‍🩹

Here are some common signs of neck pain to watch for:
● Reluctance to Move: Is your dog avoiding looking up, down, or turning their head to the side? They might seem stiff or yelp when you try to put a lead on their collar.

● Changes in Posture: A dog with a sore neck may hold their head low, tuck their chin, or have a hunched back.

● Altered Behaviour: Are they suddenly more withdrawn, grumpy, or irritable? They might flinch or cry out if you try to touch their head or neck.

● Limping or Shuffling: Neck issues can sometimes affect the nerves that go to the
limbs, causing a dog to limp, shuffle their front paws, or seem uncoordinated.

● Loss of Appetite: It can be painful for them to lower their head to eat from a bowl, so they may show less interest in food.

If you notice any of these signs, don't wait - please give us a call or go to your regular vet for a check. We can help pinpoint the cause and create a plan to get your best friend feeling comfortable again 🖤💙

Little legs, big progress! 🐾 🖤

Poor little Raven has been through a lot lately, undergoing bilateral medial patellar luxation (MPL) surgery, followed by a freak accident and having to have a surgery to repair a right tibial crest fracture at Animal Orthopaedics ✨

Post-fracture repair and 3 weeks post-MPL surgery, we’re pleased to report that she is doing well! 🥰

Her physiotherapy session included:
✨ Laser therapy to the stifles and back
✨ Gentle joint mobilisations
✨ Patella tendon work and patella mobilisation
✨ Hip, spinal and joint mobilisation
✨ Therapeutic massage, stretching and myofascial release

She is walking well on both legs and her range of motion is looking really good. We’re now able to restart her walking programme, alongside some carefully selected exercises including elevated front limb exercises, nose-to-hip movements and cavaletti poles.

🏡🐾 Who says rehab only happens in the clinic? Charlie's family created him a challenging obstacle course at home.

From cushions and broom handles to steps, cones, and everyday household items, you can create fun challenges that help build strength, balance, and confidence.

As long as your pet is moving safely and coping well with the exercises recommended by your rehabilitation team, these DIY courses can be a fantastic way to support their recovery. Don't be afraid to mix things up every week or two to keep it engaging and appropriately challenging!

🎓 Physio Graduate! Congratulations Kye 🖤

Kye was referred to us by Estuary Vet after his right extracapsular cruciate repair. Now 13 weeks post-op, he's back enjoying daily walks, and confidently using his leg again. Thanks to the dedication of his owner and all their hard work with his rehabilitation, he's ready to gradually return to off-lead adventures and playing with his doggy friends. 🎉

Well done to this superstar— A great reminder of how important physiotherapy is after surgery! 💪✨

🎓💙🐾 Physio Graduate 🐾💙

Congratulations to this handsome Baxter, who has officially graduated from physiotherapy following his right TPLO surgery! 🎉

After 12 weeks of hard work (and a healthy dose of stubbornness! 😅), he's now walking comfortably, is fully weight-bearing, and showing no signs of lameness.

He's been cleared to start returning to off-lead adventures after a good warm-up, with a full return to normal activity expected over the next month. What an incredible milestone!

A huge well done to his dedicated family for all their commitment throughout his recovery. We can't wait to see him back enjoying life to the fullest! 💙🐾
