How often have you found yourself thinking, “I just don’t have time!”? This feeling seems to be a common aspect of modern life. Because we live in a fast-paced world, we expect instant results and have forgotten how to manage our expectations. We now expect instant gratification for everything from fast food to information, answers, communication, and entertainment.
You may have forgotten how to slow down, be patient, and allow yourself the time and permission to heal, evolve, and work on important matters. This pressure can come from within, as well as from external sources that push you to perform constantly, often beyond your capabilities. Sometimes, you fill your schedule to say you are busy or to prove to people that you are. There may be a fear of being judged or criticised for taking and enjoying downtime, shaped by societal expectations. As a result, you lose permission to enjoy life, which deprives you of the personal time you need to become the best version of yourself. Taking time for yourself is not a luxury; it’s a necessity.
