One Year Later: The Journey That Brought Me Here

There are certain dates that quietly become landmarks in our lives.

At the time, they can seem like ordinary days. It is only with the passing of years that we realise they have become turning points—markers of endings, beginnings and everything in between.

For me, one of those dates is 4 August.

Over the years, it has come to represent a series of significant transitions.

It marked the beginning of learning to live independently.

A year later, it became the day I experienced the profound loss of someone who had once shared that journey with me.

Last year, it marked something very different. The final pieces of redundancy had fallen into place. The paperwork was complete, the financial loose ends were tied up, and I was preparing for a trip to Europe with my daughter, Siân, unaware that I was also stepping into one of the most transformative years of my life.

Looking back now, I can see that each of those moments asked something different of me.

To let go.
To grieve.
To begin again.

At the time, I thought redundancy was simply another ending.

Instead, it became the beginning of a year that invited me to rediscover who I was, what I valued, and what I wanted the next season of my life to become.

There were moments of uncertainty.
Moments where I questioned myself.
Moments where I wondered whether I was good enough.
Yet there were also moments of incredible discovery.

I’ve spent many years studying numerology, astrology, mythology, philosophy, astronomy and psychology. This past year gave me the gift of time to explore those studies more deeply, to revisit what I had learnt, and to see the patterns that weave between them. Not because I was searching for certainty, but because I have always been curious about how people seek to understand themselves and the world around them.

As I explored these different perspectives, something unexpected happened.

My work began to evolve.

It became less about finding answers and more about asking meaningful questions.

Less about prediction and more about perspective.

Less about telling people who they are, and more about helping them recognise the patterns already woven through their own story.

Perhaps one of the greatest lessons has been learning that I don’t have to choose between faith and curiosity, or between intuition and thoughtful observation. They can sit alongside one another, each offering a different lens through which to understand life.

This year has also reminded me that comparison serves very little purpose.

Each of us has a unique voice.
Each of us has a unique path.
Each of us has something meaningful to contribute.

As I look back, I can see that life rarely unfolds in a straight line.

It is often only with hindsight that the scattered pieces begin to reveal a pattern we couldn’t see while we were living it.

Above all, I feel deeply grateful.

To my family and friends who encouraged me when I couldn’t always see the next step.
To those who shared their knowledge, opened doors, offered opportunities, or simply listened when I needed someone to hear me.

And to every soul who has trusted me to walk alongside them—thank you. Your willingness to share your stories, your questions, your hopes and your challenges has been one of the greatest privileges of this journey. I have learnt as much from you as I hope you have taken from our time together.

None of us walks this path alone.

We are shaped by the kindness, trust and generosity of those who journey beside us.
So today, I don’t simply celebrate a year since change began.

I celebrate a year of growth.

A year of learning.
A year of rediscovering who I am.
And a year of finding the courage to continue becoming the person I believe I was always meant to be.

Here’s to whatever the next chapter brings.

There are certain dates that quietly become landmarks in our lives.

At the time, they seem like ordinary days.

Only years later do we realise they marked the beginning of a new chapter, the end of another, or a moment that quietly changed the direction of our lives.

As I approached another 4 August, I found myself looking back—not just over the past year, but over the milestones that have shaped the journey that brought me here.

This isn't simply a story about redundancy.

It's a reflection on change, growth, gratitude and the people who have walked alongside me.

If you have a few quiet moments, I'd love to share it with you.

Many of you know that my spiritual journey has been a long one.

If I’m honest, it probably began in my late teens and early twenties, when I started asking questions that didn’t seem to have easy answers.

By 2006, every Monday afternoon, you would often find me sitting alone at a picnic table in Long Bay Regional Park, writing page after page in notebooks. They weren’t plans for a business or ideas for social media. They were simply my thoughts… trying to make sense of life.

Those journals still sit on my shelf today.

Over the years my learning has evolved. I’ve explored many ways of understanding myself and the world around me. Along the way I discovered numbers, patterns and symbolism—not as something to predict life, but as another language through which we might better understand it.

I’ve become fascinated by the idea that patterns travel with us, quietly reflecting parts of our journey. Whether through words, numbers or the stories written in the night sky, each offers another perspective on the same human experience.

Perhaps that’s why words have become so important to me.

Every letter carries meaning. Every sentence has its own rhythm. Writing has become the foundation of my work, my charts and my readings.

Yet every now and then, amongst all the notes, journals and pages, something different appears.

Not a report.
Not an explanation.

Just a few words that seem to arrive all at once.

The Thread of Light is one of those moments.

It is, perhaps, the simplest expression of my journey so far ….

"Sometimes the greatest discoveries are not found by searching harder, but by noticing the light that has quietly been guiding us all along."

Every day tells a story.

Today’s Flow

(2) Connect

(6) Nurture

(8) Empower

As I looked at today’s numbers, I was struck by how naturally they unfold.

Everything begins with connection.
Connection to ourselves.
Connection to those around us.
Connection to what truly matters.

From there comes nurture.
Not simply caring for others, but also tending to our own wellbeing, our ideas, our relationships and the dreams we’re quietly growing.

Only then do we arrive at empowerment.
Real empowerment isn’t about force.
It’s the quiet confidence that grows when we’ve taken the time to build strong foundations.

❓Perhaps today isn’t asking us to do more.
Perhaps it’s asking us to care more deeply about what deserves our time and energy.

🔭Looking Up

Yesterday marked Saturn stationing retrograde in Aries.

Astronomically, Saturn appears to pause in the sky before changing the direction of its apparent motion from our perspective on Earth. Saturn does not actually reverse its orbit; it is an optical effect created by the relative movements of Earth and Saturn.

Astrologically, many people see this as a time to reflect on responsibilities, commitments and the foundations we’re building.

Whether you enjoy astrology or simply appreciate the wonders of astronomy, it offers a beautiful reminder that sometimes what appears to stop is simply preparing for a new perspective.

💬A Thought for Today

I enjoy exploring different modalities as ways of understanding life’s patterns.

Each offers a unique perspective.

None replaces our own lived experience.

Together, they invite us to pause, reflect, and discover the wisdom that life is already revealing.

Today I’ll be asking myself:

“Where am I being invited to connect, nurture, what matters most, and quietly step into my own strength?”

Perhaps that’s today’s pattern….

Some questions don’t arrive looking for answers.

They arrive looking for understanding.

Over the past few weeks, I found myself following one simple thread of curiosity. That journey led me through mythology, numerology and Tarot, where I discovered that very different traditions often tell remarkably similar stories.

This isn’t a post about predicting the future.

It’s a reflection on awareness, understanding and what it means to move forward with intention.

The Story Between the Numbers

Connect

Begin by being present—with yourself and with others. Real connection starts with listening rather than assuming.

Pause

The zero represents potential and space. It reminds us that not every silence needs filling and not every decision needs rushing. Sometimes the greatest clarity comes from allowing life to unfold.

Connect More Deeply

Returning to the 2 after the pause suggests that today’s conversations can become richer and more meaningful because you’ve taken the time to reflect before responding.

Sometimes we look to the stars or the numbers for answers, but life is already quietly showing us the way.

This week has been a masterclass in pausing and paying attention. If you've been feeling overwhelmed, caught up in the chaos, or just wondering where to even start, I wrote my latest blog post for you.

It's a gentle reminder that we don't need to solve everything today. We just need to figure out the next right step.

I’d love to know—what has life been quietly teaching you this week?

Let’s chat in the comments.

This week, life quietly reminded me of something. Sometimes the greatest lessons don’t come from a chart. They don’t come from the numbers. They come from simply paying attention.

When the Numbers Repeat….

Every now and then, the sky produces something unusual.

Around 31 July 2026, three of the slower-moving generational planets all share the same degree:

Pluto 4° Aquarius
Neptune 4° Aries
Uranus 4° Gemini

These planets move so slowly that they often reflect broader collective shifts rather than day-to-day events, which is why astrologers have been paying close attention to this rare pattern.

As I looked at the chart, I found myself asking a different question…

What story are the numbers telling?

What immediately caught my eye wasn’t just the planetary pattern—it was the repeated degree.

Each of these planets is sitting at 4°.

In numerology, 4 represents foundations, structure, stability and building something that will endure. When a number repeats, its symbolism often becomes more noticeable, inviting us to pause and reflect.

Seeing 4° repeated three times felt like a gentle reminder that before we build what comes next, we first need to strengthen the foundations beneath us.

Perhaps this isn’t a time to rush ahead.

Perhaps it’s a time to strengthen what matters most.

🌿 Our relationships.
🌿 Our wellbeing.
🌿 Our communities.
🌿 Our purpose.

The future isn’t built in a single moment.

It’s built one strong foundation at a time.

Finding the story between the numbers.
