That nagging pain on the outside of your hip? 👀
Maybe it hurts when you lie on that side, walk for longer, climb stairs or after a bigger day than usual.
When the hip is really irritable, jumping straight into lots of reps, big ranges of movement or heavy strengthening isn’t always the best place to start.
Sometimes we need to find a level of load your hip can tolerate first.
👉 That’s where an isometric can be useful.
With this seated hip abduction, you’re working the muscles around the outside of the hip without much movement.
It can be a simple way to start introducing load before progressing to bigger movements and heavier strengthening.
Because the goal isn’t to avoid using your hip.
It’s to gradually build a hip that can handle MORE. 💪
Save this one for later.
Exercise choice will depend on your individual presentation and isn’t a replacement for assessment if your pain is persistent or worsening.
