Coffee & Heart Health: What the 2026 AHA Statement Says
☕ Coffee & Your Heart
✅ Regular coffee drinking is linked to:
Lower risk of type 2 diabetes
No increased risk of coronary artery disease or heart failure
Lower risk of stroke
No increased risk of atrial fibrillation (and may even reduce the risk)
💡 Drink it wisely
Keep caffeine below 400 mg/day (about 3–4 cups of black coffee)
Choose filtered coffee when possible, as unfiltered coffee may raise LDL ("bad") cholesterol
Avoid large amounts of energy drinks
If caffeine causes palpitations or bothersome PVCs, cut back and see how your body responds
