Our optometrist Harriet had the privilege of attending the 2026 SunVision Conference in beautiful Rarotonga last weekend.

It was an inspiring few days filled with valuable learning, insightful presentations, and meaningful conversations with colleagues from across the industry. The opportunity to network, share ideas, and stay up to date with the latest in eye care was incredibly worthwhile and will help us continue to provide the best possible care for our patients.

Alongside the professional development, she also enjoyed everything Rarotonga has to offer — from its stunning ocean views to an incredible experience swimming with sea turtles. It was the perfect setting to step back, reflect, and reconnect with both the profession and each other.

We’re excited to bring back fresh knowledge, new perspectives, and renewed energy to our practice.

Thank you to the organisers of the SunVision Conference 2026 for an excellent event — we’re already looking forward to the next one.

Last month we had the pleasure of hosting two wonderful extern students from the University of Auckland as part of their placement with us. It was fantastic to see their enthusiasm, dedication, and willingness to learn, and we hope they enjoyed their time in our community as much as we enjoyed having them here.

A huge thank you also goes to all of our patients and community members who generously gave up their time to support these students. Your kindness, patience, and willingness to be involved helped provide invaluable real-world learning experiences that simply can’t be taught in a classroom.

We wish all of our extern students the very best for their future careers and look forward to seeing the positive impact they will make in their profession.

Thank you for helping make their placement such a rewarding experience for everyone involved.
