🍋🍊 Our little orchard is finally coming to life
It has taken years of to get to this point we have clay soil, a lot
Of mulching and waiting and fertilising

This is the first year we’re picking this much citrus from our own trees

🍊 Mandarins
🍊 Oranges
🍋 A few different varieties of lemons and 🍈 Grapefruit

There were definitely times I wondered if they’d ever thrive, but every season has been worth it.

There’s something pretty special about walking outside and picking fruit for your family.

If you’re planting fruit trees, don’t give up. The first few years are all about building strong roots… then one day, they reward you. 🌿💚

What’s your favourite citrus to grow or eat? 🍋🍊🌳 instead of presents we should be buying each other trees that will feed our families for years to come

Stuck for things to do these school holidays? 🍫

Get the kids in the kitchen and make some brownies! It doesn’t have to be perfect, it will probably get messy but that’s all part of the fun
Cooking with kids is such a great way to spend time together and the best part is getting to eat what you make at the end!

I’ll pop the brownie recipe we used in the comments 👇

2026 goal… spend more time in my veggie garden. 🌿

Life gets busy running a business and raising a family, but nothing fills my cup quite like walking out to the garden with a basket and coming back with dinner.

Today’s harvest
🥬 Lettuce
🧅 Spring onions
🌿 Parsley
❤️ Fresh yams

There is something incredibly rewarding about feeding your family food you’ve grown yourself. It reminds me to slow down, appreciate the simple things, and teach my kids where real food comes from.

This little garden has a long way to go, but every season I’m learning something new.

Here’s to growing more, wasting less, and spending more time in my garden. 🌱

Question 🙋‍♀️ What’s one thing you always grow successfully in your veggie garden?

🍠 Fudgy Kūmara Brownies

These may have become a family favourite! The kids actually rated these higher than the brownies we made the day before with flour & sugar which is always a good sign. They’re rich, chocolatey, naturally sweetened and packed with goodness.

Ingredients
1 cup mashed cooked orange kūmara
½ cup smooth almond butter
¼ cup cocoa powder
2 eggs
2 tbsp maple syrup or honey
1 tsp vanilla extract
½ tsp baking powder
Pinch of salt
½ cup dark chocolate chips

Method

1. Preheat your oven to 175°C and line a small baking tin (around 20 cm) with baking paper.
2. Mash the cooked kūmara until smooth.
3. Add the almond butter, eggs, maple syrup, vanilla and mix well.
4. Stir in the cocoa powder, baking powder and salt until combined.
5. Fold through the chocolate chips.
6. Pour into the prepared tin and smooth the top.
7. Bake for 20–25 minutes, until the edges are set but the centre is still slightly fudgy.
8. Allow to cool for at least 20 minutes before slicing

These are delicious on their own, but they’re even better the next day once they’ve firmed up.

It’s amazing what a humble kūmara can become. Soft, fudgy, naturally sweetened and packed with wholesome ingredients. Sometimes the best recipes are the simplest ones.
Would your family guess there’s a whole cup of kūmara hiding in these?

Tonight on Natasha’s Pantry 🥓🥚✨

Homemade Bacon & Egg Pie 🥧 but with a little twist 🙌

Instead of traditional pastry, I used filo pastry which makes it lighter, crispier and honestly SO good 🤤

I layered it up with bacon, onion, cheese and whole eggs, then brushed the top with egg wash to get that beautiful golden crunch.

Super simple. Super comforting. Perfect for lunches the next day too.

FILO BACON & EGG PIE

You’ll need
1 packet filo pastry
6–8 eggs (for a bigger one use 12)
Bacon diced
1 onion finely sliced
Grated cheese
Salt & pepper

Layer filo sheets into the dish, brushing every couple of layers lightly with butter if you wish , I don’t 😝

Add bacon, onion and cheese.

Crack some whole eggs throughout the pie, then whisk the remaining eggs and pour over the top.

Season with salt and pepper. Fold filo over the top or add extra sheets on top.
Brush generously with egg wash for that golden crispy finish ✨

Bake:
180°C for around 45 minutes until golden and set. Crispy on top, soft in the middle and absolutely delicious 🤤

Another “winging it” recipe success

Tonight in Natasha’s Pantry 🍅✨

A good old homemade lasagna the kind that fills the house with the best smell and somehow tastes even better the next day 🤤 I added spinach into mine for extra goodness and honestly… SO good

HOMEMADE LASAGNA

For the mince sauce
500g beef mince
1 onion diced
2 garlic cloves crushed
Big handful fresh spinach
1 carrot grated (optional)
1 jar pasta sauce or homemade tomato sauce
tomato paste
1 tsp mixed herbs
Salt & pepper
Dash Worcestershire sauce

Cook onion and garlic first, add mince and brown off.
Add carrot
Add sauces, herbs and seasoning and simmer 15–20 mins.

Cheese sauce
50g butter
50g flour
2 cups milk
1 cup grated cheese
Salt & pepper

Melt butter, stir in flour.
Slowly whisk in milk until thickened.
Add cheese and stir through.

Layering
I start with a little mince sauce on the bottom first.
Then
Lasagna sheets
Mince sauce
Cheese sauce

Repeat layers and finish with cheese on top 🙌

Bake
180°C for around 40–45 mins until golden and bubbling.

Let it sit 10 minutes before cutting (if you can wait 😂)

Comfort food at its finest ❤️ rob.edwards.11 the man 🧍‍♂️ behind the camera

Another recipe idea 💡 drop!!! Enjoy ☺️ I sure did! Glad winging it resulted in a good recipe 😂

FEIJOA & BANANA MUFFINS

Ingredients
2 ripe bananas mashed
6 feijoas scooped out
2 eggs
1/3 cup melted butter
1/3 cup brown sugar or coconut sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1 1/2 cups flour
1 tsp baking powder

Method
1. Preheat oven to 180°C.
2. Mash bananas and feijoas together.
3. Mix in eggs, butter, sugar and vanilla.
4. Fold through dry ingredients until just combined.
5. Spoon into muffin trays.
6. Bake 18–22 minutes until golden.

Tips
Don’t overmix or they’ll go dense.
The riper the bananas the sweeter and moister the muffins.
Beautiful served warm with butter.

This is how I cook every day 👇

No recipe. No plan. No fancy ingredients.

Mushroom + kūmara = soup 🍲 And honestly? It costs hardly anything, but it feeds everyone.

But here’s why I’m sharing this. Our kids are watching. People who are less adventurous in the kitchen are watching. They’re learning and I love sharing new ideas 💡 with the help of Rob Edwards our goal is simple bringing old traditions back to modern kitchens!
Somewhere along the way. Cooking became complicated. People started saying it was cheaper to eat out than at home 🤦‍♀️???
With busy lives cooking has become overwhelming. But It doesn’t need to be.

This is me most nights. Throwing things together, keeping it simple

👉 You don’t need heaps of money
👉 You don’t need to be a “good cook”
👉 You just need to start

If this gives you one idea for dinner tonight enjoy ☺️ 🙌 it’s honestly become my weekly go to soup at the moment 😂
