Meet Sam and Annalise – our very own twins on Tui Ward!

Born just 40 minutes apart, these sisters have basically been inseparable their whole careers – from the ICU at Middlemore, to Waikato Hospital, and now both right here at Braemar. Sam is our Clinical Nurse Coach and Annalise is our Charge Nurse, and yes – they work on the same ward. πŸ˜„

Patients doing a double take in the corridors? Totally understandable. Even staff took a while to tell them apart! Luckily, different uniforms help (a little πŸ˜‰).

What we love most about their story is why they stay at Braemar. In their own words:
πŸ’¬ "Good vibes. You feel like you can make a difference."
πŸ’¬ "You never feel alone in your role."

We're so lucky to have not one, but two of these incredible nurses on our team. And with Sam heading off on parental leave this month – congratulations are in order too! πŸŽ‰πŸ‘Ά

Here's to Sam, Annalise, and all the amazing people who make Braemar such a special place to work. ❀️ Read more here: πŸ‘‡

100 years ago, one woman's courage in the Waikato changed everything. ❀️

In 1925, Frances Young arrived in Hamilton, purchased a small maternity home, and founded what would become Braemar Hospital. She challenged the system, pushed boundaries, and built something that has been making lives better ever since.

We're proud to share the first episode of our centenary film series β€” a tribute to our remarkable founder.

Stay tuned each month to explore the story of our people, our milestones, and our future throughout 2026. If you have your own stories to share, please let us know at [email protected].

😊 Meet Dr Laura Miller β€” and her very sore cheeks.

"My cheeks get sore from smiling so much when I talk about it."

Dr Laura Miller is one of Braemar Hospital's first credentialled surgeons on our da Vinci robot β€” and her enthusiasm is completely contagious. As a gynaecologist, she's spent her career helping women through some of life's most challenging health journeys. Now, with robotic surgery, she says what's possible for patients has changed fundamentally.

Braemar is home to the only da Vinci robot in the wider Waikato region β€” and following on from International Women's Day, we're proud to celebrate this inspiring woman helping lead this surgical revolution right here in Kirikiriroa.

Braemar Hospital Brings Innovative Weight Loss Solution to the Midland Region 🌟

Braemar Hospital will be the only facility in the Midland region offering Endoscopic Sleeve Gastroplasty (ESG) – a revolutionary weight loss procedure when it launches in early 2026!

πŸŽ‰ As we celebrate our centenary year – 100 years of making lives better – we're continuing our legacy of innovation and excellence in healthcare.

✨ What makes ESG different? βœ… No incisions – completely through the mouth βœ… Go home the same day βœ… Back to normal activities in 2-3 days βœ… 20-25% weight loss achieved βœ… Reversible and preserves your anatomy

Led by Dr Jerry Chin, who trained in this advanced technique at the world-renowned Mayo Clinic in the US, ESG bridges the gap between lifestyle changes and traditional surgery.

"It's the best of both worlds," says Dr Chin. "Very effective with minimal complications and a streamlined recovery."

πŸ’™ This life-changing procedure can also help manage diabetes and high blood pressure – transforming health, not just waistlines.

β˜€οΈ Powering into our next century with sunshine! β˜€οΈ

As Braemar Hospital prepares to celebrate 100 years of caring for our community in 2026, we're lighting the way forward with solar energy.

Nearly 280 solar panels are now on our rooftop, creating 9% of our energy needs and offsetting 2.5 million kilowatts and 26.87 tonnes of CO2 emissions annually. From operating theatres to patient care, we're showing that world-class healthcare and environmental responsibility go hand in hand.

Thanks to our shareholder the Braemar Charitable Trust and Freenergy Solar Solutions for making this sustainable investment a reality. Here's to the next 100 years of innovation, care, and environmental stewardship!
