Dry Needling…

Feeling tight, sore or restricted?

Dry needling is one of the techniques our Physiotherapists can use to help reduce muscle pain and tightness, improve muscle length and support better muscle activation.

It can be used as part of your treatment for a range of sporting, overuse and musculoskeletal injures.

Not sure if dry needling could help you? Chat to one of our team at your next appointment!

From the clinic to the sidelines with the Black Ferns

Last week, Sian was down in Upper Hutt working alongside the Black Ferns for their hit-out against the Black Ferns XV.

The match was an important part of the Black Ferns preparation ahead of their upcoming international campaign.

From helping our local community move and feel their best, through to supporting athletes at the highest level, our team brings experience from right across the sporting pathway back into the clinic.

A rewarding afternoon with the Huntly Garden Club!

Rebecca and Olivia recently spent the afternoon with almost 30 lovely ladies from the Huntly Garden Club, chatting all things movement, health and keeping our bodies doing the things we love.

They covered some of the common aches and pains that can come with gardening from shoulders, thumbs and wrists to lower backs and knees. As well as talked about how physiotherapy and exercise physiology can help, not only when something hurts, but also from a preventative point of view.

The conversation also covered the importance of regular exercise, bone health and osteoporosis, as well as pelvic health an area we believe deserves to be talked about much more openly.

A big thank you to the Huntly Garden Club for having us and for the beautiful flowers! 💐 Such a lovely way to spend the afternoon.

After an injury, it’s common to feel ready to get back to sport or training but how do you know your body is actually ready?

Using VALD technology, our team can objectively measure strength, balance and movement, helping identify side-to-side differences and areas that may still need work.

Whether you’re recovering from an injury, returning to sport, or simply wanting to understand how your body is performing, VALD testing provides valuable insights to help guide your rehabilitation and track your progress over time.

A season to be proud of

As the Chiefs Manawa season wraps up, we’d like to give a special shoutout to our physiotherapist, Sian, for all the work she’s put in behind the scenes this year.

From training sessions to game days, recovery and rehab, there’s so much that goes into supporting a team throughout a season, and we’re proud to have Sian representing Lifestyle Physiotherapy at the highest level.

Awesome effort, Sian, and congratulations to the entire Chiefs Manawa squad on the 2026 season.
