As from the 2nd July 2020 Craig & Coralie have joined PhysioRX at new venue 108b Rostrevor Street. (on the corner of Rostrevor & Vialou St's), & a Melville Clinic at 8 Urlich Ave, Melville
If you call our old phone number it will be diverted to the new clinic. At the new clinic we will be joining business owner Carey Giddens, Physios Rachael Street, Abi O'Conor, Jacky Sek, Tony ter Ellen and Rehab trainer Christian.

We welcome all our previous clientele to join us when you have the need for physiotherapy. It's not far from O'Neill St, but if you don't wish to cross the river we are happy to refer you onto clinics on the east side of town.

For existing sporting groups we are associated with, all stays the same. We hope it will be a seamless transition as only the location changes. There are other physios available to see & more available appointments. Coralie will still be there to greet you with a friendly smile.
Limited CBD parking is available but there is more time limited street parking.
Craig is based at Melville full time at Glenview's Urlich Ave PhysioRX clinic.

We hope you will continue to seek your physiotherapy needs at our PhysioRx clinics.
See you there!🙂

LEVEL 2 - Post Covid 19
We can operate from our clinic as of Thursday 14th May 2020.
Strict hygiene & more cleaning & social distancing still applies.
MOH are requesting health services to think twice about face to face contact if not clinically required.
As an opton telehealth phone/video calls are still of value, especially if you are immune compromised.
Therefore whilst we will be open for business we are stills
- triaging for telehealth options
- screening for CV19 symptoms prior to clinic appointments
- Physical distancing measures apply
- PPE used where appropriate, if dealing with blood or body secretions. You may chose to wear a mask or other PPE if you wish.

The toilets are open in the clinic if necessary, but it is advised that patients should use their home bathrooms before coming to their appointments to avoid potential cross infection.

We will have a Im Here QR code track & tracing app your smart phone can use.
If no smart phone we will ask you to txt your details to us at time of appointment.

We will ask you to use hand sanitiser on entry & exit of the clinic. Enter through the front door & exit via the rear door, unless ramp is required.

Call us on 07 855 0025 for booking appointments from 8am Thursday 14th May or email us on [email protected] and we will contact you to arrange an appointment for you.

Remember we aren't there yet so KEEP SAFE.

Are we open for business???
People are getting itchy feet. We have yet to be informed by the MoH if we are permitted to resume business. We will be all keenly listening to Mondays announcement by the PM.
IF we are allowed to resume working what will it look like? According to the MoH guidelineshttps://www.health.govt.nz/system/files/documents/pages/hp7353-ppe-ipc-poster-community-care-providers-28mar20-v3.pdf
we will not need any PPE unless dealing with blood & body secretions if you do not have CV19. Of course if you have any flu-like symptoms or are not well, please stay at home & consult your GP for advice. DO NOT ATTEND physio appointments if you are unwell.
If you have a new injury, please bring your own pen to avoid cross infection, toilets are unavailable to public. We will be seeing patients on a one in - one out basis and cleaning beds & hand washing in between. Come in the front door & exit the rear door to avoid unnecessary contact.
It all sounds very unsociable but it will be the "new norm"
We will try to make your visit as friendly as possible but please be patient & respect social distancing. We hope to see you soon!

Lockdown Level 3!!!
We're getting there gradually. Keep up the social distancing & within your bubble. Coillectively we will hopefully get rid of Covid 19 but it will take time.
So if you are wondering ARE PHYSIO CLINICS OPEN?
Yes & No...
Level 3 we can see you if "urgent" and cannot be dealt with via a phone/video call. That is for the physio to decide given we will have to break our bubble to see you.
Video call can be really useful in getting a diagnosis & get some rehab started & learning how to deal with your injury before we can return to the clinic for face to face consults. So please don't hesitate to ask us about it. You don't need any apps, we email you a link & just click on it & we're all go.
Email us/use contact form on this web page/call the landline 07 8550025 - connects to my mobile whilst in lockdown. Hopefully in a couple of weeks we may be able to return to the clinic & see your friendly face & deal with your injury.
In short - YES we can help you.

Covid 19 update in Level 3
We have been granted access for face-to-face consults only if deemed "urgent care"

“Urgent care” for community allied health professionals is defined by the Ministry of Health as:

a condition which is life or limb threatening
treatment required to maintain the basic necessities of life
treatment that cannot be delayed or carried out remotely without risk of significant harm or permanent and/or significant disability
treatment which cannot be delivered by a service which is currently operating or by health professionals that are already in contact with the patient.’

What does this mean to most of the public?
Little really changes but we can still do telehealth calls where we are able to talk to you preferably via video call. We will try to manage your injury via non-contact if possible & can be quite effective. There are lots of information we can provide & rehab that can be done without hands on. Providing a diagnosis is the first important objective & much can be achieved via video link.

If we absolutely need to see you in the clinic then we can but under strict guidelines. We have been informed that we do not need any PPE but hand hygiene is paramount. In the front door & out the back door policy. No toilet facilities are available so please ensure you go to the toilet before attending. Remember we will need to ask you questions to determine the "urgency of care required" before we may see you. If at all possible any hands on physio will need to wait till level 2 if we are permitted to open to the public.

Level 3 means we may be able to treat "urgent care" people but the clinic is not open to the public yet.

ACC has given Physiotherapy access to providing consults via telehealth formats. This means we can help you via some form of telecommunications such as Skype, Messenger. My preference is for a video call as we then have a visual on observing you & your injury. We may not be able to do any hands on examining but there may be a lot to offer with exercises & advice.
So if you have an injury needing physio, contact us via the website portal contact form or message me on Eastside Physiotherapy & we can organise a video call & ACC can still cover your injury if it falls under the definition as an "injury"👍
We will continue to maintain our medical notes as per usual, there may be a delay in registering your claim but it will get done when possible. Any consult surcharges as per normal will still apply & we will post any accounts out once back to work.
We hope you & your families keep safe & well. Be considerate to each other in these times of hardship & we will get through this if we all maintain isolation protocols.

Hi Folks
We are not abandoning you even amidst this CV19 pandemic.
As of yesterday evening (March 23 2020), ACC has communicated with PNZ that ACC has announced further expansion of telehealth services.

"Over the next few days ACC will make a detailed announcement that physiotherapy services, initial consultations and follow up appointments, delivered under CoT regulations and all other services will now be able to be delivered via telehealth services. The final details of the expansion of telehealth services are currently being worked through and will be released in the next few days."

We are just trying to get details of how/what to use under ACC's approval. Please be patient & use this contact page to send me some information about your condition that I can help you with & I will endeavour to assist you ASAP albeit by some form of telecommunications.
Our work email is [email protected] is still active & is being monitored daily.

Keep well & safe

-Public media are getting paranoid about the current news of coronavirus. There seems some hysteria which is unnecessary. But the public do need to follow some guidelines about general hygiene that applies to trying to prevent any spread of infection.
It is recommended that:
- Washing hands with soap & water for 20 seconds before & after eating food & after use of the toilet
- Covering coughs & sneezes with clean tissues covering the nose & mouth. Using your elbow is suggested but that just deflects the spray. You would be more effective sneezing into your own shirt/top.
- If you are feeling unwell it is advised that you should stay home. Going to work/school just spreads the infection.
The chances of catching the coronavirus are very slim but you can easily spread the flu virus - which can also kill some people,...but public don't seem so paranoid about the flu do they?

If you are feeling unwell for any reason please do not attend your physio appointment. We would be happy to rebook your appointment for another time.
