Our rooms have been filled with so much love, joy and new life over the past month. Here are just a few of the beautiful whānau we managed to snap a photo of before they headed home! 🥰

1. Alice, Joaquin & baby Juliana
2. Aoife, Anu & baby Clodagh
3. Sejalben, Mano & baby Patel
4. Savannah & baby Hudson
5. Taylor, Tureia & Temuera
6. Eva, Alicia & baby Alicia
7. Jenna, Luke & baby Miles
8. Olivia, Ethan & baby Evelyn Teresa
9. Nimesha, Maduka, Devki & baby boy

One of the things we love most is seeing parents walk through our doors feeling uncertain and leave just a couple of days later with newfound confidence, skills and ready to head home as a family!

💗 Community kindness in action 💗

Today we had the pleasure of welcoming Natalie and Rylea from Williams Salvage Limited to Waterford Birth Centre.

Recently, the team at Williams Salvage reached out to their community, sharing their desire to give back and support local causes. When we mentioned that we were looking for pure wool to provide to the wonderful ladies at the Morrinsville Community House (who lovingly knit and donate items for babies and families staying with us) they didn’t hesitate to help!

Thanks to their generosity, they have donated an entire box of pure organic wool, which will be transformed into beautiful handmade treasures for the babies who need them most this winter ❄️ 🧶

We are incredibly grateful for this thoughtful donation and for the kindness shown by both Williams Salvage and the talented knitters at the Morrinsville Community House who give their time so generously. Together, you’re helping to keep our tiniest pēpi warm and cared for.

Thank you, Natalie, Rylea, and the wider Williams Salvage community. Your generosity will touch the lives of so many whānau. 💕

💙 Safe Sleep Day 2026 💙

Today is Safe Sleep Day in Aotearoa, a day dedicated to raising awareness about SUDI (Sudden Unexpected Death in Infancy) and the simple steps that can help keep our pēpi safe. This year's message is: ✨ Make every sleep, a safe sleep. ✨

SUDI refers to the sudden and unexpected death of a baby under one year of age. Tragically, around 50 pēpi die from SUDI in New Zealand each year, and many of these deaths are preventable. The good news is that there are practical things we can do to reduce the risk.

Let's work together to ensure every pēpi has the safest possible start in life 😴

When you finally get to hold your whole world in your arms for the first time 🥹

The intensity of labour fades as you meet the baby you’ve been growing and dreaming of. A moment worth every step of the journey 👣
