The Reflexology Room

The Reflexology Room As a professionally trained reflexologist, my treatment will leave you relaxed, with a sense of calm. After treatment you will receive my after-care leaflet.

I offer a mobile service, so I come to your space and leave you relaxed. In the comfort and relaxed environment of my studio with gentle music playing, your feet will be cleansed and warmed. We will then begin a 10-minute foot pre-relaxation with a series of massage manipulations to relax your feet before fully starting your treatment. Once you are relaxed, I will, using either a beeswax-based cre

am or a lavender olive oil, apply gentle manipulation, using finger and thumb techniques, to the reflex zones on your feet. By stimulating your reflex points your body will begin the process of healing and clearing any toxins and blockages you may have. Reflexology is a safe and gentle form of complementary health therapy. It is based on the principle that all the systems of the body are mapped out in reflex points on the feet, hands and ears. Reflexes in the feet correspond to all the glands, organs and parts of the body. After treatment you will feel a sense of wellbeing and calmness. Reflexology can help to:

● Enhance general well being
● Reduce stress or anxiety
● Encourage relaxation
● Help with depression
● Improve circulation
● Strengthen nerve function
● Clear the body of impurities and toxins
● Aid digestive issues
● Help with chronic pain
● Activate conception
● Enrich pregnancy
● Help with rehabilitation after illness or surgery

As a reflexologist I do not diagnose medical problems. If you have concerns about your health then you should seek advice from your doctor. Reflexology is a complementary therapy and I am always happy to answer any questions you may have. Reflexology – A brief history. The pleasurable and therapeutic benefits of massaging both the feet and hands have long been recognised. There is evidence that compression massage on the feet was used as long as 5,000 years ago in China. In ancient India and Egypt manipulating particular points on the feet was known to have a healing affect. A frieze in a Physicians tomb at Saqqara in Egypt depicts patients receiving both hand and foot treatments.: it is over 4,000 years old! Though there is considerable evidence of reflexology having been used for centuries in the western world it only really became popular in the early 19th century in America, thanks to the efforts of Dr William Fitzgerald. This pioneer and populariser of reflexology inspired the physiotherapist Eunice Ingham whose painstaking research led to the detailed maps of feet which many reflexologists use today.
