Term 3 Yoga - Starts this week

As we move through the depths of winter and slowly begin turning towards the light, Term 3 offers an opportunity to reconnect with yourself through movement, breath and stillness.

These classes are more than stretching and exercise. They're a space to come home to your body, regulate your nervous system, build resilience, and create moments of deep presence in the midst of everyday life.

Each week we explore yoga as a whole practice, weaving together movement, breath awareness, meditation, yogic wisdom and deep rest.

You don't need to be flexible, experienced or "good at yoga." You arrive as you are, in this now moment.

Whether you're looking to improve movement, reduce stress, support your overall wellbeing, or simply carve out time just for you, we'd love to welcome you into the space.

As we step into the stillness and dark of midwinter and the new moon, our internal rhythm naturally turns inward, we have a lovely couple of classes this week to match the season.
This Friday we're gathering for the second of our Tuning In winter evenings with Rachel and Erica: Yoga Nidra and Biofield Tuning woven together into something genuinely restorative.
This month's theme is Acceptance, the unexpected relief of softening around what we cannot change. Not resignation. Just rest. If you've been carrying a lot lately, this one is for you. Friday 6pm, just a couple of spots left.
And if you want to ease in gently earlier in the week, Tuesday evening's Move Like a Yogi 5.30pm class has a beautiful restorative focus too, a lovely way to keep your week in a gentle balance.

Mānawatia a Matariki
As the Matariki stars rise in our winter sky, The Yoga Space is taking this time to pause, reflect, and reconnect with ourselves, each other, and the year ahead.
A quick note on classes this week:
🧘‍♀️ Saturday class is on as usual , Sarah will be guiding you and have the space toasty warm.
🌙 Monday evening class is off this week, Tracy is taking a break, take the extra time to rest, gather with whānau, or simply be still.
Matariki reminds us to remember those we've lost, celebrate where we are now, and set gentle intentions for what's ahead. However you mark it this week, we hope it's full of warmth and quiet moments.

Winter is here, and so are we.
This month at The Yoga Space we welcome two new classes to the timetable, Sunset Flow and Move Like a Yogi, alongside our regular classes every day of the week.
And on Friday evening, Tuning In and Yoga Nidra returns. This Yoga Nidra and Biofield Tuning winter series with Rachel and Erica was quietly special last winter, an invitation to rest deeply, tune inward, and nourish something that the busyness of life can't quite reach.
The studio is warm. The door is open. Come as you are.

So delighted to be introducing Tracy from Rebel Yoga, she is 200-hour certified yoga instructor teaching trauma-informed classes in a movement style blend of Vinyasa, Hatha, Yin, Yang, Qigong and Tai Chi.

All classes are LGBTQ+ and neurospicy inclusive, with options for every level of practice

She is due to complete her 300-hr certification and is training in QiYo (Yoga and Qigong)

Tracy has been a yoga student for over 30 years, with a deep commitment to her personal practice as a lifelong student.

She’s taught aerial yoga, aerial hoop, aerial hammock and pole fitness and is half of an aerial doubles duo that’s competed and performed across NZ.

In her classes, there is no right or wrong way to do yoga.

Tracy believes that yoga is a very individual experience, and invites everyone to explore their inner Rebel to find what feels good for them.

Tracy became a yoga teacher because she wanted to challenge the perception that yoga is only led by gurus, for people with perfect poses, perfect bodies or brand-name gear.

Whether your goal is to be able to sit comfortably on the floor, to become a balancing warrior or warrioress, or just to lie on the mat and not have to talk to anyone for an hour, Tracy would love to welcome you to a class.

She will be teaching Sunset Flow, Monday's at 6pm. You can book here:

This class is a nourishing, trauma-informed yoga class for every level of practice. Using music, breathwork and Vinyasa inspired movement, designed to help you drop out of your mind and into your body. During our day-to-day lives, we don’t always have the space to tune into what our body is asking...
