What might a scar therapy assessment look like?

Before treatment begins, we take time to understand your surgical or injury history, current symptoms and how the scar may be affecting your movement or comfort.

Using gentle, hands-on assessment techniques, we may assess:

• How the scar and surrounding tissues move and glide
• Areas of restriction, tension or disconnection
• Whether the tissue feels fibrotic or adhered
• Sensitivity, numbness or altered sensation
• Swelling and changes within the surrounding tissue
• Any impact on movement or function

Your assessment helps guide an individualised treatment plan based on how your tissue presents, not simply how the scar looks.
Scar therapy should be gentle, considered and always guided by your comfort.
