To start with, your complete eye exam is done by the Optometrist. The tests, photographs and analysis of the results are all completed by the optometrist as they are the trained professionals. We believe this is the best way to provide you with optimal eye health care. We have a new dry eye clinic dedicated to helping patients with problems with dry eye & blepharitis. That mole near your eye, should you get it checked? 👁️
Moles (naevi) can appear on the eyelid or even the surface of the eye, just like anywhere else on the skin. Most are harmless, but it's worth knowing what to watch for:
⚠️ Changes in size, shape, or colour
⚠️ Raised or irregular edges
⚠️ Bleeding, itching, or irritation
⚠️ A new mole appearing later in life

A few simple habits go a long way:
✅ Always wash your hands before inserting or removing lenses
✅ Never sleep in daily lenses (unless specifically designed for it)
✅ Replace your lenses as recommended, don't stretch it out!
✅ Avoid water contact, no swimming or showering in your lenses
✅ Always have a backup pair of glasses for lens-free days

Why your eyes feel drier in winter 👁️❄️

A few winter culprits:
🌬️ Cold, dry air outside holds less moisture
🔥 Heat pumps and heaters dry the air out inside
