Sentient Clan Services

At Hack Farm on Sunday as part of Ride for Hope we did a little demo helped by two gentle giants Tommy and Brownacre.
While things didn't go to plan, it offered an opportunity to demonstrate the beauty of working with horses , being in the moment, and working with what you have on the day.
Much gratitude to Jennifer Anne for assisting and those that were there to take part.
This is feedback from one person present: "Thank you so much for your demonstration today ... I've read bits about similar work, but the way you spoke about it and then gave such a congruent real life demonstration was so clear, heartfelt, and inspiring.
The message about connection really struck me and i felt i got a much deeper sense about your work thank you." A

We have been a bit quiet on social media so far this year as I am studying a postgraduate in Professional Supervision. So watch this space for the launch of Sentient Supervision from November 2026! This offering will be alongside my therapy work across the Tasman area.
Photos thanks to , and watch out for more photos as part of their exhibition in September.

Obstacle course planned by a young person for Maccy.
What unfolds constantly surprises me with the engagement and growth so grateful to be able to do this work.

Just signed the declaration as part of my commitment to working with other sentient beings and to reinforce that no work at Sentient Clan Services is done at the expense of another being.
A great foundation to build good authentic relationships

IAHAIO has been working with Philip Tedeschi of the University of Denver’s Institute for Animal Sentience and Protection (DU IASP) on a global declaration of animal sentience in animal-assisted services.🐎

The IAHAIO Board has conducted a final review of the declaration and we are very proud to present this to our IAHAIO members.👏

To download please visit IAHAIO.ORG today or visit the link in our stories. We also encourage, comments or signatures of support.💻

Wow amazing when what you intuitively know is put into words

Why are horses a release for people?

Horses are a release for people because they strip life back to its simplest, most honest form.
In a world full of noise, emails, deadlines, expectations, horses remind us that real communication isn’t about words. It’s about presence. It’s about energy, intention, awareness.

When you’re with a horse, your words mean nothing, but your actions, your body language, your energy? That’s everything. You can’t fake confidence with a horse. You can’t lie with your posture. You can’t manipulate with charm or excuses. Horses reflect back exactly who you are in that moment, your fear, your calm, your frustration, your peace.

That’s why working with horses is 90% self-reflection. They force you to get quiet. To slow down. To pay attention not only to them, but to yourself. Your breathing, your posture, your thoughts. They draw you out of your head and into your body, into the present.

It takes us back to a time when survival, connection, and trust weren’t built on promises or conversations. They were built on consistency, energy, and respect. Horses remind us how to just be, without the layers of complication life piles on.

That’s why so many people find healing with them. They don’t care about your job, your past, your social status. They care about your energy in this moment, and nothing feels more freeing than being seen for your truest self, without judgment, without words.

Love the way horses teach us over and over how to be present and to enjoy the moment 🐴💖🌞️🌈💫🌻
