Did you know? Centuries ago, tablecloths were once a quiet symbol of wealth, used not only for decoration, but to reflect status, care, and attention to detail. Today, across many homes and cultures, laying a tablecloth carries a deeper meaning. It’s a simple yet powerful gesture of warmth, respect, and hospitality. An unspoken way of saying, “You are welcome here.” 💚
At HBH, we cherish these small but meaningful moments. Our residents are always encouraged to take part in everyday activities that bring a sense of purpose and belonging, like preparing the dining room. During our recent ANZAC Day celebration, Margaret and Kay from the Sale community proudly stepped forward, working alongside the care team to dress the tables for everyone.
It may seem like a simple act, but in moments like these, something beautiful happens, connection is strengthened, purpose is felt, life fully lived, and dignity shines through. These are the moments that truly bring to life our Eden Principle 6: Creating opportunities to do things that we find meaningful is essential to human health.
