We all loved the visit from the wonderful St Patrick's School Inglewood pen pals.

Such special relationships being formed and they really brightened up our day.

Yesterday was a very special day at Marinoto as we celebrated all the amazing men in our lives - fathers, uncles, brothers, grandfathers, friends, and mentors.

Our staff handed out little gifts and cards to all the wonderful men who call this place home. We also asked every resident the 'wisdom passed down' from their father/father figure, so we could put these on display for all to see and appreciate.

Thank you for the care, laughter, wisdom, and companionship you bring to your friends, families and community. We are grateful for the many ways you inspire, support, and enrich the lives of those around you.

Our residents have been enjoying a wonderful range of activities over the last week - from attending the annual Daffodil Day Luncheon in support of Cancer Society of NZ Taranaki Centre Inc in Stratford on Friday, to creating colourful daffodils to display on the walls.

We were also thrilled to spend time with our furry and woolly visitors, including an adorable therapy dog and a very cute little lamb.

These special activities really brighten our days and bring joy to our residents.

We'd love to extend a huge thank you to the Taranaki Bulls players and team for heading out to Inglewood to spend time with us today - treating our staff and residents to a tasty lunch.

Your visit brightened the day for everyone and created some very special memories.

We would also like to extend a big thank you to our Rachael Biesiek, whose winning streak in the Taranaki Bulls competition made this wonderful day a reality.

We are incredibly grateful for the generosity shown to our Marinoto community - thank you!

Getting creative with clay!
We recently had the lovely Kim Loader join us for a hands-on pottery session with our residents.
Everyone had the chance to get stuck in, shaping and creating their very own pottery bowls. It was wonderful to see how much everyone enjoyed getting creative.

A big thank you to Kim for sharing her time, skills and creativity with us all.

What a fantastic week it's been at our very own Marinoto Commonwealth Games! 🏅🎉

Our residents (and staff) gave it their all across a range of events, from walking races, paper planes, Where's Wally challenges, co****le, and quoits to plenty of other fun challenges. The week was filled with laughter, friendly competition, encouragement and great sportsmanship.

Now that the games have wrapped up, it's time for the officials (Lyn and Paula) to do the important job of tallying the points from each event! 📝🏆

We'll be announcing our overall champion early next week, so stay tuned!

Thank you to Lyn and Paula for organizing the fun and a big thank you to all staff who helped make the events a big success.

In the meantime, enjoy some of the memorable moments from an unforgettable week of fun and camaraderie. 💚

Our wonderful Activity Coordinator Lyn has pulled together a fortnight of fun with a focus on the 2026 Commonwealth Games this month.

We're still on our post quiz night high and have two more important acknowledgements to make.

It takes a community to run a fundraising quiz night and ours really stepped up for us...plus some....

Because of all of our sponsors, donors, supporters', volunteers and quiz participants, we've raised $4118.10 to put towards our goal of switching to solar energy - THANK YOU!!

We really felt the love and are humbled by all of the support.
