Every brain works differently, and that difference is something to understand, support, and celebrate.

Neurodiversity describes the natural variation in how people think, learn, and experience the world. It includes autism, ADHD, dyslexia, dyspraxia, and others. It's not about labels. It’s about recognising strengths, needs, and individuality.

At South Coast Psychology, we provide strength‑based, culturally grounded assessments that help identify learning and behavioural patterns across tamariki, rangatahi, and adults. Our clinicians work closely with GPs, to ensure people can access safe, timely, and meaningful support pathways.

As the seasons shift in Aotearoa, many people notice changes in mood, energy, and motivation.

For some, these changes are more than “winter blues”, they may be signs of Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD).

SAD can look like:
• Persistent low mood
• Fatigue or heaviness in the body
• Difficulty concentrating
• Changes in sleep or appetite
• Loss of interest in usual activities

If you or someone in your care is finding this time of year more difficult, our team can help explore what’s happening and provide support that honours identity, lived experience, and wellbeing.

Winter can be tough, and for some people, it’s more than just feeling a bit flat.

Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) is a real, recognised form of depression that shows up when the days get shorter, the light gets weaker, and routines get disrupted.

At South Coast Psychology, our providers understand how seasonal changes affect mood, energy, sleep, and motivation.

Our team can help match you with a provider who works in a warm, culturally safe, human‑centred way. Whether you’re seeking support for yourself, your whānau, or your workplace, we’ll guide you to the right person.
