A hardy group of people turned up to our Winter Pruning Workshop last Sunday. Despite the weather forecast, we were lucky enough to have the sun come out for us!
A huge thank you to Anna Dadson for facilitating such an inspiring and informative workshop. Anna shared her passion and wealth of knowledge, teaching us how to care for our pruning tools, assess the health and structure of a tree, and prune with confidence.
The group then put their new skills into practice, working on an apple tree, some very overgrown feijoa trees, and a very "busy" mandarin tree. Everyone had the opportunity to make pruning cuts, ask plenty of questions, and learn by doing. The trees looked fantastic afterwards—and seemed to breathe a sigh of relief!
Thank you to everyone who braved the winter chill to join us, support the workshop, and learn some valuable new skills. We hope to see you at our next Teaching Garden workshop.
🌳 Volunteer Day – Tomorrow! 🌳
We'll be putting our new pruning skills into action by tackling a few more trees in the Teaching Garden.
🕘 9:00 am – 12:00 pm
Come along, lend a hand, learn something new, and enjoy a cuppa with us. We'd love to see you there!
