There are some things we carry for so long, we forget to question whether they were ever ours to hold in the first place.
The weight of other people’s choices.
The responsibility for what happened.
The pressure to keep the peace.
The stories we learned to carry because, at the time, we didn’t know what else to do.
Today I felt some of that weight leave my shoulders.
Not because the past changed.
Not because everything suddenly became easy.
But because something in me finally recognised:
I don’t have to keep carrying this.
Sometimes release isn’t forgetting.
Sometimes it’s simply returning what was never yours, and allowing your body to soften around the space that creates.
Maybe there’s something your shoulders are ready to put down too. 🤍
