Many women are surprised when I tell them that pelvic health isn’t always about the pelvic floor.

Symptoms like leakage, urgency, constipation and pain with s*x can absolutely involve the pelvic floor. These symptoms, however, can also be influenced by breathing, movement, sleep, stress, hormones, bladder habits, bowel habits, diet, fluids, and the nervous system.

That is why I spend so much time getting to know the woman sitting in front of me, not just the symptoms she’s experiencing.

Pelvic health is about more than your pelvic floor.

It’s about understanding the whole story. 🤍

Every woman who walks into my clinic brings more than symptoms with her.

She arrives with her experiences, her fears, her questions, and the story behind those symptoms.

Long after the appointment is over, she probably won’t remember every technique I used or every piece of advice I gave.

But she will remember how she felt.

Safe. Heard. Understood.

That’s the part of pelvic health care that really matters 🤍

If you’re new here, welcome. 🤍

I’m Jennifer, a women’s pelvic health physio who believes symptoms make sense when we take the time to understand the whole person.

I love challenging “it’s normal”, looking beyond symptoms, and helping women reconnect with their bodies.

I’m curious by nature, passionate about all things women’s health, and genuinely love what I do.

I’m glad you’re here. 🤍

Every day in clinic I meet women who believe their symptoms say something about who they are.

That they’re weak, too sensitive or emotional and they should be coping better.

But pelvic health symptoms are often signs of a body that has been adapting, protecting, bracing, and carrying a lot for a very long time.

Healing often begins when we stop asking:

“What’s wrong with me?”

And start asking:

“What is my body trying to tell me?” 🩶

Exercise in midlife may give your brain an extra 11 years.

A 44-year study found that women with high cardiovascular fitness in midlife developed dementia at an average age of 90, compared with age 79 in women with moderate fitness.

11 more years of memories, connection and of being you.

We often think of exercise as something we do for our weight, strength or fitness.

But one of the biggest benefits may be something we can’t see. Your future brain.

It’s never too late to start moving. 🤍
