Healing doesn’t begin with fighting yourself.
It begins with gently asking,
“What are you trying to protect me from?”
The parts of you that withdraw, please, control, shut down, or stay alert are not flaws. They developed with care, trying to keep you safe in the only ways they knew.
When you meet those patterns with compassion instead of criticism, your body begins to soften. Your nervous system slowly discovers that there may be other choices now.
And as the story you carry about yourself begins to change, new ways of being can feel safe, natural, and possible.
You were never the problem.
Your protective patterns from the past directed how you serviced to survive.
Now, gently, you can learn how to feel safe being fully you.
What might your protective patterns be trying to keep you from?
Pause. Notice. Get curious.
