🧠🌊Brain Waves!🌊🧠
🧠When you go for a relaxing treatment, whether it is a holistic relaxation facial or massage, therapists are trained to achieve a calming atmosphere, encourage you to not engage in conversation, to encourage you to disconnect from the outside world and all of its stressors.
🧠This is why I do not chat away to you during your treatment. The aim is to achieve deep relaxation, to calm from your usual Beta or Gamma right down to Theta or Gamma level. These are the levels that will best serve you during your precious relax time, stimulate the immune system but give you permission to switch off and really relax!
🧠The 5 Primary Types of Brain Waves🧠
Brain waves are generally categorized into five primary bandwidths, from slowest to fastest:
🧠Delta (0.5 – 4 Hz): The slowest waves. They are dominant during deep, dreamless sleep and are essential for physical healing, cellular restoration and immune function.
🧠Theta (4 – 8 Hz): Present during light sleep, deep meditation, and the twilight state right before waking or falling asleep. These waves are heavily linked to creativity, intuition, and processing suppressed emotions.
🧠Alpha (8 – 12 Hz): Occur during a state of relaxed wakefulness, such as when daydreaming or meditating. They represent a calm, focused state where the mind is peaceful yet alert.
🧠Beta (12 – 30 Hz): Associated with your normal waking consciousness. These waves drive active thinking, focus, problem-solving, and decision-making. High beta activity is often correlated with stress and anxiety.
🧠Gamma (30+ Hz): The fastest waves, linked to higher cognitive functions, peak focus, and profound insights. They play a major role in information processing, memory binding, and heightened perception.
